Where were you fishing on the Potomac. I have a 14 ft v-hull and would like to fish the Potomac but I thought the water would be to rough. I fish out of the Occoquan Reservoir on a normal day.

I always run my electronics. I can't tell you how much deepwater structure I have found by accident. I can't wait until I can afford to buy the Hummingbird Side-Imaging sonar!

I have a fishfinder but only use it to find deep structure. I mostly fish frrom the bank to the boat.

Reading is nice but you need to spend time on the water. That what fishing is all about.

I want a hummingbird SI. It seems to be easier to distinguish what is really on the bottom.

Good trolling motor. I think boat control is the most important. Next would be electronics. This is of course after the boat is seaworthy!

I bought my 14 foot aluminum boat on ebay. It came with a 9.9 hp motor and trailer for $1200.00. It has been a great boat for the last 5 years. I would like a bigger boat but my lake has a 10 hp limit. The nice thing is that $10.00 in gas will last several trips There are some good deals out there, just take your time and good luck.
