I palmed a tatula didnt like it i can palm a penn 109 and have about 20 of them even much bigger then a tatula..for me its more about my thumb placement i think if i can put thumb around top of frame its comfy

Im sure red lube has its place and it sure aint near any bearings..i traded abu for a abu got this reel knowing it wasnt very smooth its what he said.opened it up and the guy put the redlube all over the inside.drag,maingear,pinion dawn took care of that problem .works like new now less is more and rem oil and abu grease get it done

Love these little reels i have one on the way traded it for a 6000c from a catfisherman in kentucky.he said he lov es it but wont hold much 20 line lol

Sounds like a bent axle to me it dont take but 1/16 of a inch to make it shake and its very hard to notice with the nakkid eye.may have to get it lazered on a alingment machine

Also for me anyhow using pistol grip rod with med action works best for spooks 6' and i use 10 lb big game or yo zuri.

FWIW this has nothing to do with the OP post .i had a BPS round reel a pro qualifier which is made by phflueger my freind has calcutta same size .me bein frankenreel kinda guy i had to try something.the main gear and pinion can be swapped out and it meshed perfect calcutta is made in japan BPS made in korea..both reels over 8 yrs old

Truth ...i been all over the net and it seems everytime i see a negative post about .abu, quantum,daiwia etc etc.most seem the same probs and none i have ever encountered.im still trying to figure out how all are so generic and lack substance .maybe this is why Shimano has such bad costumer service.the employees spend 24/7 on the net using names like shimano#1. or stelladontbreak bashing a brand with 500 5 star reveiws!!!!

6 battles ..must be diff battles..... around here penn battles are 90% of what charters and kayakers use .cheseapeke bay area.btw i dont own any battles but i have 9 penn feirce which is 2 grades down and never have a problem with any.btw just. silly question why did you move from shimano to penn then back to shimano. the first 2 times losing about $200 i would not have went to $600

I follow ppl on bassboats often.in my kayak im far from fast.most times if not all the time they are fishing fast boat moving fast and they are casting and reeling fast .and i catch fish they miss quite often.slow works for me but i see fast dont work for everyone.

Id be skeered to fish close to most of yall.some of the things yall have done with crankbaits and fishing rods you need a vest that says stay back 300'

I been catchin bass slow for 39 yrs .once and a while i will speed up a lure to bring it over a snag then let it drop.i bought a 8.1 reel to see how fast a triwing buzzbait can move and be effective has nothing to do with covering lots of water or slack line.some ppl say unproductive water i for one have seen bass smash a spinnerbait or superfluke in 1 foot of water many times that looked unproductive.and i was pulling lure up to cast again.so now regardless of what it looks like i assume all water is productive

Pickin up slack yuup but ....line stretch (LOL)will hamper the bringing fish in faster and covering lotsa of water with a buzzbait thats all i can think of with a fast reel.i bought a 8.1 lews for one thing a triwing buzz bait reel .ill let ya know how the other stuff works
