Yuup im goin its a no brainer my old farm family and 70 deg tommorow.

I have one also. No probs with mine ive heard of them imploding during a cast .they have a lot of drag surface and very very smooth,im surprised abu hasnt done this with the planetary gear system on metal reels .im thinking that the poly 9 they used would flex causing the problems ,come on abu bring them back

So this will be the best curado until next christmas ,,Shimano plays the game perfect and adds 20$

When lews was with shimano back in the day that was a good run of reels.all jokes aside if i go to yard sale and see any curados or citicas from the 90s i will buy them they are nice reels.i love all things fishing im just partial too lews/shimanos made in japan same with older shimanos curados citicas calcuttas,and i collect swedish abus .with that being said if im on the market for a low profile its gonna be older curados ,citicas. Or new lews.i have used most and they feel the best IMO

Lews has only been on the market with the new.branded stuff 4 yrs or more shimano has had 20 plus yrs and had how many variations of the curado and many will say the best ones where the first 2,3,4 i think lews just improved there frame size and made them smaller .the curado seems to flucuate between small and mid sizes lews has all same size frames with diff spools,etc the lfs is here to stay and with great CS

The lews will stay the same.the curado will change 20 more times in 5 yrs with null product support vs the lews..if im buyin a shimano it would be a calcutta there low pros change as much as Obamas speeches weekly

Unless he has a stockpile of blanks at 120$ you might as well buy a mass produced rod ,,alconite guides,gudebrode wraps,fuji reelseat,and the cork will be close to that price in a custom rod..if i had the need for a custom id want one of those cool custom pistol grips made out of maple or teak,,with a wild handle shape .but M

I have 4 of the older ones they are what i use when.im not pistol gripping it.im goin to get one or two for my abu 1500 and 2500.great rods decent price

I will admit the only thing the same about any.of them is they are all low.profile baitcasters.

Not latetly. But i have quite a few abus over 60 yrs old .all work perfect i think i have more from the 60s then anything all work perfect .they look like they made it through the civil war .lol

I use a ugly stik coastal 7' with a garcia 5500c3 on my yak and a 6500 size on shore both have 15lb big game, i use saltwater spooks redhead white body ,jigs chartruse with a gulp grub , I use bull minnows for bait ,i dont use circle hooks anymore for stripers .not much else i can offer this is all i use and need

Emerson has one at ollies outlet waterproof and all does camera shots too for 30$ bought one today havent done any fishing but it works as it should take micro and reg size sd cards and has a helmet and tripod adapter sold seprate easy to make a.home.made one,i sat it on my kitchen table and recorded my kids playing it aint bad at all 5mp

I only take what i need 2 rods walking ,,2 or 3 on my yak,i hate leaving anything in my vehicle nowdays theft is widespread.

I catch them with all the brands but rats are my favorite,i have about 7 brands all work and i aint paying over $5 for any of them.even discontinud pogo shads and suger shads work.

Mercury uses 2.9 and 4.3 along with 350 chevy engines in a majority of there I/B drives for lots of boat companys

Like Catt said its the user i can bring minus one thru tree limbs just by feel.same with plastics and jigs u gotta have that touch

I have never had my line get caught up in the rotor even while drifting on my yak with a spinning reel...can i ask the OP are you using your reel upside down on your rod?

All c series reels are made in sweden and many varients ,rockets,records,beast,carpmasters,pro rockets,blue yonders

The casting rods are based on the abu 1500 round reel profile i may have to try it

Round reels history wise from abu are there best seller.im sure since the revo was in the scene the past 6 yrs it took away some sales from the round reels but 70 yrs of makin round reels and history.they aint gonna stop making them.they are a worldwide mainstay

I have them all except loomis,and any of the new stuff thats came out in the last 5 yrs.that bein said my fav isnt a brand its a 5'6" pistol grip med action...

Just buy a abu round reel choose your size 1500,2500,3500,4500,5500,6500,7000, and be done with it.at least you wont be posting things like "what sound is this" my reel wont cast" and my fav "I cant find this part on there website and when i called i was put on hold for them to tell me 30 mins later that part is obsolete...there i let it out lol

I see it as a 2016 shimano callisto .at 119$ id rather have a citica i cant beleive they are pushing this.that 100$ price point is overwhelmed with aluminum framed reels i see this reel ,being on clearance by summer. Matter of fact now i look at it closer its the same reel except its black
