If u use braid and sharp hooks fish will hook themselves. I use uglystiks med action pistol grips and spinning rods.I aint rich but I can afford 150 $ rods but prefer too buy 4 rods not 1 and still catch fish

Rod weight is about the same for both ..but I'm thinking some how say using 2 lb PP on that ultra light with a 1/32 oz jig in 3 foot of water vs the other combo without braid in 15 fow .edge goes to ugly stik.I can not only feel a horsefly land on my rods (graphite and fiberglass) but I can tell if they are male or female.

IMO a light weight rod regardless of price is more sensitive then a heavy rod.that being said using braid and sharp hooks you can still use a heavy rod and feel more and also make better hooks sets...but just like diff caliber firearms its all about shot placement .a dull hook, stretchy line and a weak knot on a 500$ rod is worthless

Batteries fetch 10 bucks each around here at the metal recycling place .put you have to have a drivers license to get money now .it helped some.I've had a few things stolen but I'm paranoid so nothing big

Anyone notice the reviews on rods wether its a ugly stik or a gloomis with 500 reviews.The rod broke the fist 5 inches from the tip...2 reasons high sticking or a nick in the rod.people are so professional when they say the POLE broke on the first cast or a 1 lb fish. What's yalls take on this phenomenon

I found a cellus rod and solstace combo for 19.97 tonite and 10 packs of spin shot vmc,s for 1 each

I use them still i bnought about 50 packs of brutes in diff sizes for 50 cents each a few yrs ago.and i use the perma steel ones for saltwater with great success

Rear drag reels dont have much drag surface .even though if you set your drag the proper way with your line size,you shoulnt need to touch it ever.But some ppl do just as many ppl continue to reel when they catch a fish with a spinning reel.Its not made for that the spool is made to hold slack line,and to work your lure and bring in the slack
