St. Croix 7'1" M casting rods - Bass X or Mojo?
Yep - normally a 3/8 oz spinner, chatter or jig tells you there's 3/8oz of lead or tungsten - the blades, skirt, hook, wire all add to that. There are a few that tell you the 'true' weight, but mostly it's as I said. Then add the trailer...my usual trailer is a 4" Pit Boss that weighs in at .34oz - so a 3/8 oz chatter with trailer weighs about 3/4oz when all is said and done. That's why I toss 3/8oz on a MH rod, not a M.

Spinners and Jigs - remember the weight is just for the head...my 3/8oz spinners total out at almost 5/8...and that's not including a trailer. For a Medium power rod, I'd limit spinners and jigs to 1/4 oz.

Winter 2022-23
Probably winter pattern here too - under the ice...if you can find them.

Winter 2022-23
Ya, ours started the Wednesday after Labor Day - a day to 'recover'. Snow days were a rarity when I was in school - and this was up in Bemidji...go figure.

Winter 2022-23
That's when the school year ended back in the 70s when I was being edumecated.

Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
The feel, balance and usability are the top reasons for purchasing - long as it's in my budget. Matching rod&reel based on color? That's taking things to a new level....one I probably won't move to. Yep to both of these - stored in sleeves and covers, but I'm not gonna treat them like Steuben Crystal either.

A Feider Fly?

8 - 10 inches
Ow-ow-ow Knock on wood - I'm 63 and have yet to suffer a stone...friend of mine had one and while it had a shorter trip, she said that it was worse than giving birth without meds - one of her sons came quickly enough that ambulance didn't even make it to their house before little Jack made an appearance.

Most Tackle
Same here - I got a couple dupe-lures and some bagged plastics that are dupes in the 'fishing room'...but everything else can fit in the F-9....bass and crappie at the same time. And I've still got some un-used storage room on the boat too....

St. Croix 7'1" M casting rods - Bass X or Mojo?
I know when I registered my Mojos (I got 3 this year), they all said '5 years'. Course the Victory has a 15 year transferable warranty - the one I got used...registered it and still have 13 years left of the warranty.

Best jig head for muck/algae bottoms
Swim Jig - keep it off the bottom.

Lithium batteries
Check the owners manual on the battery - some Lithiums are rated as starting batteries, but if it's not you have a good chance of blowing the BMS rendering the battery unusable. The charger must be rated for lithium batteries...the one I have can charge wet/gel cell, AGMs and Lithiums.

Winter 2022-23
My parking slot has been a rink since the melting earlier - gravel so it's kind of hard to chip and scrape.

I only grabbed 962 points this time - Seth and Kennedy where my 'bad picks'...but I'm still in 15th place in the group...so something must be going right.

Revo Rocket Spinning Reel, 20 or 30?
Put two '0s' at the end and you got the size...Pflueger is the only one who has their own size-scale So for the Abus 20s are 2000 30s are 3000 Personally - I like a smaller reel for finesse techniques - I'm actually running a 1000 for my Ned/DS rig but a 2500 for my wacky/flukes rig

Tackle Storage
I went and took a look - $25 for an insert that will hold 12 Vision 110 (+1, +2) that fits in a Plano 3707-10. I've got 17 110 'knockoffs' (Skinny Cutters, 3DBs, Rattlin Rogues, etc) that with Owner caps I store in a single 3701 - with room for 1/2 a dozen more...no tangled hooks with the caps. Cute, but expensive and impractical from my point of view.

Scheels is coming to town
Especially since some people's flags might be different than yours...

a more modern tackle box?
The Magnum will fit 8-3700 boxes in the main compartment (more if you use 3701s) and the outside pockets will each fit a 3600.

Coping with chronic heart ache ~
Feel for you, man - between Sciatica and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Nora's been basically bed-bound for 3 years now. With the severe drop in health-care personnel, getting a PCA in here has been a no-go. Reason my outings are few and short. But we do what we have to for our loved ones. Give Lynn my best, and hang in there man - you're not alone.

That's exactly what I got...

a more modern tackle box?
Ya - I'm not using the new one that's pictured - I've got one of the older camo pattern ones.... It's like the AA-II Large bags - I prefer the older Cabelas version to the revamped BPS version.

Ketch Board vs Hawg Trough or something else?
Our state record would be a little over 24" - I'd be ecstatic to catch a 22"....my current best is a little over 20"
