  1. That's true with the old Lithium-Ion batteries, but the newer LiFePo4 batteries are much safer. The worst you can probably do to them is fry the BMS, which will basically make the battery useless.
  2. While a quart bag would fit the side pockets, they wouldn't fit the original plastics bags. And even folded, a gallon size won't fit the front pocket. The 'Large' for the AA-II bags is 3600 size - 6 boxes in the main, 1 box in the front...I have a Cabelas and one of the revamped BPS version knocking about the basement.
  3. Casting reels - Daiwa and Pflueger...though since Pflueger doesn't make a full line anymore, I'll have to find something else if I ever need a replacement. Spinning - Pflueger and Mitchell until now - I do have one Lews for Crappie and this coming season I've got two Shimanos I'll be 'testing' to see how they do. Old Days - Abu for casting, Pflueger and Mitchell for spinning...ya, that hasn't changed.
  4. Thing is - it's not retroactive...so all these guys with older boats/motors that never retro-fitted kill switches still don't have to have them. The '73 25hp Evinrude I got for the F-9 didn't have one...so I DID retro-fit one on it, and use it properly...and wear my PFD all the time even though I'm in a 'real' boat now. (AM-24 still on even though I'm up on the front casting deck)
  5. Thanks for all the help Kevin.
  6. Do their catches get scored though is the question.
  7. Different chemistries have different storage/discharge properties. Mixing types can cause things like quicker discharge, over-heating, or damage to the BMS on the lithiums as they try to compensate for the lead-acid battery connected (Wet-Cell, Gel-Cell and AGM are all lead-acid batteries). Mixing an old and new battery, even of the same type/model, will cause the system to 'average out' and reduce performance...that's why replacing both (all) batteries in a multi-battery system at the same time is recommended. That holds true whether they're connected in series or parallel.
  8. Don't mix chemistry's - in fact, if one battery fails it's best to replace both as Woody says...you want both batteries in a 24v system to be as identical as possible. This not only means AH/Reserve, but also date of manufacture. If you want to go Lithium - just get a 24v lithium battery to replace both old AGMs.
  9. If you're gonna enter a KBF Tournament - you got limited choices. "C. Acceptable measuring boards for all KBF competitions are the aluminum Ketch Products Measuring Board, the Ketch Karbonate (plastic) and the Ketch X." https://www.kayakbassfishing.com/kbf-rules-standards/
  10. Can't forget your 'guard'... (waves at Keri)
  11. Another culprit could be the Bail Trip Lever (12577)
  12. Damascus Steel Bowie Knife....don't settle for anything less.

Sunglasses - realize that those UV rays that can damage your eyes (ya, it can happen...trust me) are reflected as well.
  14. Well, Knoxville's gonna be out of TP and beer for the next month.
  15. Every review I've seen on it has praised it...I've only bench-tested it so far. Get it from Digitaka and it's a great value - currently $115 with no tax or shipping...Yen is getting stronger, I paid $105 for mine a couple months ago.
  16. Yep - gotta agree...need more real music
  17. (blinks) I always got a fresh-fill for my bath when I was younger...moved to showers when I was 8 When I was younger - did the Swedish Sauna thing...roast for a while in a dry sauna, then jump into ice-cold water through a hole cut in the lake-ice. I got sane about 19 years old and stopped doing that...
  18. As Bulldog said - if the exchange rate is more than 100yen to the dollar, JDM is less expensive. This past fall I picked up 2 Tatula 100s, a Miravel 2500 and an Ultegra 1000 - all from Digitaka and final price was 20%-30% under USDM prices (before tax and shipping...which Digitaka doesn't charge) And like Cheesy said - features are important - JDM was the only place I could find that Miravel in 5:1 gear ratio (29IPT) - USDM only sells the 6:1 (36IPT) and I didn't want one that fast.
  19. Especially if they're made into a port. I do that every so often - get a large enough harvest of Black Raspberries from my backyard that I can make a 5-gallon batch of wine with it...use a Port yeast, so it runs about 17% alcohol.
  20. Poor baby I did Boundary Waters for a week back in the late 70s...loved every minute of it. You're like my wife - her idea of 'roughing it' is a hotel that doesn't have room service.

That's about the only thing McNuggets are good for.
  22. My Fury 702sf has been a rock-solid finesse rod...despite buying Mojos and Victorys this winter, the FR-702 is still in my lineup.
  23. Trust me - it's not the hat. Like my boonie is any better?
