Winter 2022-23
Well, it was nice while it lasted...back to the deep freeze we go.

Anyone else a metalhead?
I don't know about those bands - but the ones I like are European and don't release on American or British labels...and that's basically what gets played here.
-
Frogging Drag
Same here - my frogging reel is a Fuego CT - 13# max drag...but with 50# test I set it to about 8#

New Tatula spinning reel
Better get use to it man - seems they're all going that way eventually.

Jetson Question
All well and good until that wake boat runs you over cause it couldn't see you.
-
Seats?
Diluted Simple Green - spray on, wipe off ^ Does what those fancy label things do but at a much lower cost.
-
All things flipping and shallow water
I was gonna tell you my skipping rig - but that second statement makes me say... 'Naaah' (ya, I skip with spinning gear.)

Postal service
About the only issue I have is when my normal gal is off - the substitute's service is spotty. Mail occasionally gets delivered to the wrong house - two blocks from me is a house with the same number, just a different street...sometimes they get my mail, sometimes I get theirs...and it's always when Kathy isn't driving that day. From her - flawless service the past 25 years...I'm gonna be sad when she retires.

Test Your Braid!
Heck - bend that rod at 90-degrees and even 20# braid would probably break the rod.

IT Experts need some advice
I don't like Chrome either - FireFox continues to support my Win-7 and I'm running 109.0 (the latest version) without an issue.

IT Experts need some advice
Dude, I'm still running 7-Pro on both my machines. Neither supports 10 or 11, and only the desktop supports 8...but having tried 8, I immediately went back to 7 - hated 8. First home computer was a Commodore-64, first IBM clone I had ran DOS 2.1

Alberto Vs Uni to Uni for braid to flouro
Uni-Uni for me is just for backing to mainline. Pre-rigging before a trip - it's the FG Re-tying a leader on the water - Alberto I don't have an issue with the Alberto - seems to hold good on 832 or Smackdown to InvizX or Siege.

Jetson Question
Ooo - ooo Can I have a Trek upgrade - Warp between lakes, food synthesizer for what ever snack I want, full sensor suite that makes FFS look like it's not even trying? BTW: Decided on a name for the F-9 - gonna split this between the words and put one word either side of the motor on the transom - combines my two loves.

Jetson Question
Man, I'd be happy if I had side-scan and spot-lock.

Eye popping numbers
Some of us are retired and trying to make ends meet on nothing but Social Security. Wife and I DID have 401ks, Roth IRAs and I had an ESOP - all that went away due to medical bills.
-
Shimano stuff
1 Ultegra 1000 1 Miravel 2500 Both picked up this buying season. Bench testing was great - both are smooth and light with good drags. It'll be May before bass season opens here and I get to field test them.

My "New" Jon Boat Thread
Nope - same as my 1973 25hp...50:1 - 1pt oil to 6gallons gas (1pt to 5 gallons would be alright to use) All Evinrude 2 strokes made after 1964 use the 50:1 ratio.

My "New" Jon Boat Thread
One of the other places I took inspiration from for the F-9 rebuild.
-
Eye popping numbers
That's over twice what I paid for my house when I bought it.
-
Are these numbers for real?
Similar here Been smoking since 1970 (started young) Last full physical - EKG was normal...for a 45 year old (I'm 63) and my lung capacity is still around 98%, cholesterol hovers around 185 total, BP registered at 105/68, pulse was 73 My Doc just looked at me in disgust. Some people are genetically immune to bad effects of certain things...I seem to be one of them.

Penn TRQS. Out of stock most places - but TD listed them at $500 for the TRQS-5 Gold, $700 for the TRQS-9 Black.

My "New" Jon Boat Thread
Welcome to the madhouse. I'd check https://www.tinboats.net/ for ideas, place to ask questions, etc. The forum is specifically dedicated to aluminum boat rebuilds and modifications...it's where I went for help on my project last year. Some of the pics I posted have been removed (space considerations) but from Page 6 on the pics are there...and there's short vids I put up as well. Basically, it was turning the top pic into the bottom one. If you got any short questions, I can probably answer them here too.
