  1. Katie - don't feel too bad....bass season doesn't open here until mid-May....so I got 3 months to wait no matter when the ice disappears.
  2. Still gonna make for fun on the roads - thankfully my 4WD is in top-knotch order.
  3. Ya - that's about what I got by the lake...snow picking up after noon, but light until tonight when it dumps. "Tonight Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. Low around 14. Blustery, with a northeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible."
  4. Drive safe, Andy Thoughts for a good outcome of the visit to Lynn. (I'm always nervous about my Oncology visits...)
  5. Ya, I'd go from 5 boxes to about 20 to fit all my cranks...and the storage on the F-9 will only hold 20 standard depth boxes...so where would I put my jerks/jigs/spinners/etc?
  6. If the lithium is rated as a starting battery, then yes. Most lithiums are rated for deep-cycle only and the BMS prevents high-amp discharges of the type needed to start a motor.
  7. Trying to skip-cast while seated in a canoe is a steep learning curve. Thankfully my canoe had the outriggers so I could stand up when I needed to skip-cast from it. Skipping into reeds??? I got nuttin'. Under docks, under boat lifts, under over-hanging branches...ya, all those are reasons to skip-cast.
  8. I think one of the reasons the employees are so dedicated is that Scheels is actually employee owned. Everyone from the lowest cashier on up gets stock shares as part of their benefits...so they all have a 'stake in the game' rather than just being 'paid help'.
  9. Scheels is one of my mainstays for local shops. Always good service, good prices and decent selection. The conservative values thing doesn't bother me as they don't try shoving it down people's throats like other places do...and those others I will never give money to.
  10. If the ping bothered them, no one would be 'video-game fishing' successfully.
  11. Oh come on - this is Minne-snow-ta....nothing more than a few flurries.
  12. That one was such a pain in the....behind. Place I worked, we had scheduled a computer switch for that weekend...going from remote to local. I had to get into work everyday (I was the system tech/database admin/lead programmer/etc). Lake Minnetonka area to NE Minneapolis (my office windows looked out over the back 9 of the Columbia Heights golf course - building now houses Lucky Shots Pickleball Club) Driving a 1982 Dodge Mirada - 2-door, 6 cylinder, RWD sedan...passed so many 4WDs in the ditches, but made it into work and back home all 3 days without issue other than longer time.
  13. Latest outlook is for 16-22 inches for the Twin Cities Metro area. Batten down the hatches, boys, this is gonna be a whopper.
  14. Go Digitaka Shimano Nasci 1000 - $87 - https://www.digitaka.com/item/5/4/1/4969363043139 Daiwa Legalis 1000S - $83 - https://www.digitaka.com/item/4/4/1/4960652141277
  15. For hardbaits - FishUSA usually has the full line of colors where TW has a limited selection.... Examples: Rapala DT Fat - FUSA: 14 colors, TW: 7 colors Rapala Jointed Shallow Shad - FUSA: 18 Colors, TW: doesn't carry them at all and it just goes on-and-on. Also, I've cancelled items that had a backorder date of 2-3 months out at TW where-as places like Academy and even Fleet Farm had them in stock.
  16. And here I am cringing cause this buying season I've got combos that broke the $300 barrier.
  17. Guess I gotta work more at it - I only got 19 in my collection. Wonder where @A-Jay fits on that chart...oh wait, he's a jerkbait maniac.
  18. Fly-boy, not sailor. I was just expanding on your statement, enforcing your point as it were.
  19. Ya, if you don't want your money going overseas - Accurate, IRT, and Penn for spinning; Avet and Seigler for casting - but all rounds, no low-profile. Of those, only Seigler uses all USA made components, the others get some components from overseas. Those are the only US made spinning/casting reels out there...everything else is made overseas. https://usamadeproducts.biz/outdoor-recreation-fishing-gear-fishing-reels.html
  20. Ya, Mike makes a quality product...I'm slowly adding to my collection of SO jigs...I think I got more of them than the SK Tour Grades I use to depend on.
  21. Yuck - all public launches here are managed by the DNR - that's what part of the registration fee here is for...maintenance and patrolling the launch ramps. If you got an up-to-date sticker on your boat, you're good to go.
  22. I don't even bother with TW anymore - other places have better selections, better CS and faster shipping....and quite often better prices too.
  23. What's a 'launch permit'? You gotta pay to just use the ramps or something? Only thing I have to get from the DNR here for my boat is the registration - $36 for 3 years and I'm good to go anywhere in the state.
  24. Me too, bro. Had four make it to Semis - only one fished today and he ended up middle of the pack.
