  1. It's not that far of a jump to Cro Magnon.
  2. Ya - if they're not biting on AC/DC - try Tchaikovsky
  3. These guys make paddleboards specifically for fishing...inflatables and solids. Accessories include rod-racks, crate tie downs, manual anchor pole holes and others. https://www.boteboard.com/collections/fishing-paddle-boards This is just one example of their models. They also have a seat that mounts to the board.
  4. When I'm pre-rigging before a trip, I use the FG. If I need to replace a leader on the water I use the Alberto. 50# 832 to 20# AbrazX 40# 832 to 15# AbrazX 20# 832 or Smackdown to 8# InvizX 10# 832 to 6# InvizX Very rarely do I have breakoffs at the knot...more usually it's somewhere between that and the terminal connection.
  5. I actually like rock bass for the freezer - goes with the crappie and plate-size bluegills.
  6. I'll just have to refine the focusing on my spy satellite.
  7. I hear that... This is a sample of what I listen to on the water. Course I've bought the CDs and put the songs on my desktop with Media Monkey - then just sync since both the tablet and phone have MM as well.
  8. According to the GPS Store Pro - Availability: Backorder, Expected 2/17/2023 https://www.thegpsstore.com/Brands/Lowrance-Electronics/Lowrance-HDS-PRO-9-without-Transducer?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces-across-google&utm_term=7365 AT-2 Availability: Backorder, Expected 1/31/2023 https://www.thegpsstore.com/Brands/Lowrance-Electronics/Lowrance-ActiveTarget-2-Live-Sonar-System
  9. Ya - I listen to the music that's on my tablet....through my ear-buds. That way I can blast it, but not bother someone who's only a dozen or less yards away from me.
  10. I don't use the Gammys, but I do use the Owner equivalents...VMC also has their own.... If I want to burn a soft-swimbait but keep it deeper, I'll use a weighted spring-lock hook. 1/16-1/4oz depending on the depth and speed I want to run it.
  11. When you can get a new Alumacraft V-14 with a 20hp and a Helix 7 and trailer for under 11k....ya, I think Lund isn't gonna get much sales with this.
  12. ^ That's about what my plan is.
  13. Ya - doesn't matter if it's a SMB, LMB, Pike or Crappie - it's not something you should strive to experience. Don't ask....
  14. This is why it's considered an 'old wife's tale'....just like using Mountain Dew for bleeding - though there are studies on that one.
  15. The only places this is 'bandied about' is on Canadian fishing sites. There is no scientific study I know of that breaks down specific prey odors in the slime-coat of any species. <-Aquatic Biology major in college.
  16. It's been brought up before - and in a 'properly' titled topic.
  17. That's well below JD Powers base price for that boat/motor combo. Did you go through everything before taking it off his hands? Motor Starts, runs good at all throttle levels, shifts gears? No leaks in the hull, compartments are water-tight? Clean title?
  18. Little Googling and I have this. Make: Evinrude Model: BFL4S Year: 1994-1997 Length: 42" Volts: 24 Thrust: 41# If you need parts - these guys have quite a few of them https://www.vansoutboardparts.com/evinrude-johnson-omc-outboard-motor-parts/electric/1996/24/bfl4s-1996/c1-225303?trail=224279,224280,225144,225242
  19. Same girl in her other well-known costume.
  20. Aluminum or Fiberglass hull? Long as they epoxy the plate on correctly, you shouldn't have any issues either way...but there are ways of sealing the holes before mounting the plate. Fiberglass - epoxy in the hole Aluminum - brazing the hole closed
  21. If you want straight FC for finesse - I'd go with 60-70yds of 6# InvizX or Tatsu with a cheap mono backing. This is the backing I use on my spinning reels - 1850yds of 6# test for $6.49 https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/zebco-cajun-smooth-cast-low-vis-quarter-pound-spool/0000000294339 But for better sensitivity - 10#braid (Sufix 832 or Seaguar Smackdown) with a 6# FC leader is the ticket Alberto and Albright knots are fairly easy to tie and decently strong, but even a double-Uni would be usable...probably the easiest line-junction knot out there.
  22. You too, huh....
  23. We need a time-turner man. At 63, the days seem to go by faster and faster.
