  1. Moron I retrofitted my 1973 Evinrude 25 tiller to add a kill switch...and I wear my PFD ALL THE TIME.
  2. I guess I'm a little different...I feather with the same finger I use to pick up the line before a cast...long fingers. Course I'm a '3-in front, 1-behind the stem' holder....that might have something to do with it.
  3. Minnesota USE to be 65 - now it's 90 before you don't need a license anymore. Pg 18: https://pdfsource.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/mn-fishing-regulations-2022.pdf
  4. I don't know - it and Little Long here in town were both stocked, and designated trout waters years ago, but they've both been dropped from the list. Closest designated water to me now is Courthouse Pond in Chaska.
  5. Not just fish FOR them "This stamp is now necessary for anglers 18-64 years old who wish to fish in designated trout water" https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/trout_streams/stamp.html For example: even if you were after bass, if you fish the Vermillion River anywhere between Lakeville and just west of Vermillion - you need a trout stamp.
  6. His YouTube channel is still up too - he even put a new short vid (2 minutes) out there beginning of May.
  7. In-Fisherman is the only one I still subscribe to...also read it on my tablet with the online availability. I dropped BASS and Bass Angler as I felt the content wasn't worth the price.
  8. Not specifically bass - but they do have a few general fishing models with rod lockers, livewells, and casting decks.
  9. As I said above - neither is the F-9 This is a 'just in case' type thing for new riveted aluminum boat owners.
  10. That's the stuff I used to fill the extraneous holes on the trailer.
  11. Just make sure it's the 'right' JB weld For filling the holes from the original seats and braces on the F-9 - I used this
  12. MN Fisher replied to gim's topic in Everything Else
Kind of silly to enforce when even the cops are using their phones when driving....no lie...I've seen Hennepin Deputies on the phone while driving.
  13. In depth technique articles/videos would be pretty much my main want.
  14. I mentioned @LadiMopar way at the top of the thread, but haven't seen her in here since May.
  15. Normally I'd say yes - but the Sierra line is slow enough that you can use the Fast action with trebles...otherwise you do want a MF or even M rod. If you're willing to go to the Champ XP line - the CB-Glass rods are excellent treble lure rods.
  16. The Sierra 734C is a Heavy/Fast - but the Sierra line is a little slower than other lines...so not quite as stiff as a fast in other lines. The 735CB Glass and 736CB Glass are in the Champion XP line - about $250 retail
  17. The thing is - once you step outside the 'normal' rods, Dobyns is closer to others in ratings. The FR-705CB is rated to 1oz max lure weight, so falls in line there with other Medium-Heavy rods. I have no problems tossing 1/2 oz spinners and chatters with trailers on my 705CB. Again - ignore the 'words', look at the line/lure stats.
  18. Yep - the 'cheap' scale I got had the hook....removed that and replaced it with a carabiner holding a Rapala lip-grip. Like @A-Jay - my scale is part of my checklist before going out.
  19. Ya - ignore the words used - use the line/lure ratings for an accurate picture of the rod's capabilities.
  20. I actually use a Debit card now-days, with an automatic decline of charges that exceed my balance...and I only put enough on the card to pay for the purchase I'm using it for, And per their TOS - my debit card does NOT get charged a currency exchange fee when purchasing from overseas.
  21. Ya, I loaded 6# Siege on one of my crappie rigs since I got a 1000yd spool from Fleet Farm for $11. Probably put it on one of my bass spinners too next year...I'm really liking it.
  22. At least - I toss frogs into heavy lily pad patches...so for me it's 50#, no leader.
  23. Tarp works for me - 14' boat with a 5' beam - got a 8'x16' heavy tarp, hold it down with bungee cords.
  24. But isn't that structure, Kent?
