  1. I'd rather be safe than sorry - I ran 12awg Ancor from house battery to circuit breaker, then from there to the fuse box. 16awg is what I used from the fuse box to...where-ever (pumps, sonar, lights, etc)
  2. I think you'll like it - I got an AM/24 last fall when I started the F-9 project. Like the mesh-vest in the canoe, I wear it the entire time I'm on the water...fairly comfy, and if I get tossed from the deck by a passing wake boat, I'm 'safe'.
  3. This isn't new - one of the channels I follow (for my scale modeling) has been hit with that off-and-on for over a year.
  4. Since I've never even field-tested a T-Wing reel, I got no idea. Someone who's got both and can side-by-side compare the two would be helpful...
  5. Some swear by the T-Wing system...I've done fine with all my casting rigs without it...that includes 3 Fuego CTs.
  6. There's nothing wrong with spinning gear...while I have 7 casting rigs myself, the rig I use to skip jigs, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits with is a Pflueger Supreme 30 on an Okuma Reflexions MH/F loaded with 20# Sufix 832.
  7. As of this moment (just checked) 1day 19hrs until it locks.
  8. Okay, there's a couple I can comment on from experience. 1: The Tatula CT and the Fuego CT are virtually identical - only real difference is the Tatula has the T-Wing and the Fuego has a standard aperture...that's it. 2: I have a President XT and while it's a good reel, you can do better for the same money...Pflueger really hasn't done anything with their casting reels - and dropped most of the casting lines too...from 7 models to the 1 left. Rods: Dobyns Fury, though for less money the Maverick has been getting good reviews. St Croix Bass-X is another one in the 'budget' area that people seem to like. Daiwa Tatula XT is a third option in that price range.
  9. Done as soon as my Roster unlocked from Oahe.
  10. $200-$220 is a great starting point. Plenty of combos can be put together in that price range that not only are of good quality, but will make your fishing enjoyable.
  11. VMC Standup Shaky - 3/0 hook https://www.rapala.com/vmc/jigs/shaky-jigs/sshj-stand-up-shaky-head-jig/SSHJ+Stand+Up+Shaky+Head+Jig.html?cgid=vmc-jigs-shaky&taglist=VMC|Jigs|Shaky Jigs Owner's Stick Bait Shaky Head in 1/8oz is also a 3/0 https://www.ownerhooks.com/product/stick-bait-shaky-head/ Big Bites Stand-Up Fintwist Head in 1/8 and 3/16 is a 3/0 https://bigbitebaits.com/product/stand-up-fintwist-head/ That's what I found in about 10 minutes of searching. Might be others that are even smaller...but smaller than 4/0 is out there.
  12. Hasn't changed much then....was the same when I went into the AF back in 1980.
  13. Ya - I got the 7' L/MF and the 7'6" UL/MF and they're both good in their stated ranges. I think all the Celilos are MF action...don't quote me on that...but man can they case light stuff far. With the UL, I've tossed a 1/32 jig with a 1" plastic a good 40-45yds...loaded up well...very 'springy'.
  14. If it's what I think it is (Cr.....)- ya, that's not a fun one. Neighbor has it and I know what she goes through.
  15. I hear you there. I've got 3 crappie rigs, one is Daiwa Procyon ($75) and the other two are Okuma Celilo ($50ea)
  16. Ya - I'm looking at upgrading a couple of my reels this winter and knowing the issues with the new Pfluegers has me looking at the Shimano Nasci. If Daiwa would sell the S models in the USA instead of 'offloading' the D models, I'd look there too...but I don't want deep spools...ya Digitaka is an option...but like to support US businesses even if they're selling Japanese reels.
  17. Just another option... Daiwa Procyon LT is currently on sale at Scheels for $120 - that's 1/3 off regular price. https://www.scheels.com/p/daiwa-procyon-lt-spinning-reel/43178-PCNLT2000D.html?cgid=fishing-reels
  18. I'm the complete opposite...never had dry needling or even traditional acupuncture. But - when I get blood drawn for testing, I'm watching the whole time. Shots...barely even notice them...and I have two tattoos that me and the artist worked on custom designing...so they're unique.
  19. Interesting I've got a 2018 President-25, two 2019 Pres XT-30s and a 2020 Supreme. Other than flushing the thick grease and replacing it with something better (I check all my reels upon arrival), I've had no issues with any of them. Far as older ones...I've got a early-mid 70s 640ul that's just as solid and trouble free as when new...I don't use it anymore cause I've gone all right-hand retrieve and it's a left-hand only (the 641 was the right-hand model).

I learned chess at an early age from my dad, played on the high school team, even played some in college. Wife bought me a black/white onyx set and we played some near the beginning of our marriage (32 years now), but got discouraged cause I'd always win. Set has been in the closet for 25 years now...just haven't found anyone to play with...
  21. Get a bargain - Pflueger Supreme XT - last year's model (with anti-reverse switch) - on discount at Scheels for $100 https://www.scheels.com/p/pflueger-supreme-xt-2021-spinning-reel/8950-1347904-BOX.html?cgid=fishing-spinning-reels
  22. I think I've said it before. I avoid that place like the plague...few bad experiences "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
  23. I never fully spool a reel with my mainline...70-80yds on the spinning reel with cheap mono backing...Berkley Cajun 6# specifically.
  24. Ya - had me wondering there cause if they DID have 4# in 600yd spools, I'd get one One of my bass spinning rigs and two of my crappie rigs use 4# YZH...so one 'loading' consumes an entire 275yd spool.
