Nice going, Kent...- Bass Fishing Memes ***PG ONLY***
My wife's response when I sent her the meme. "Looks like something you would do because you are a smartass (also quick of wit but I'm going with the smartass...)"- Has this happened to you?
Watched this earlier on YouTube. Good info on spooling up. BTW: You should try out for the Rodeo, Glenn - you got the technique down.- Why are swimbait heads so pricey?
Well - you knew that going into that career And we're thankful for ones like you, man.- Why are swimbait heads so pricey?
I think he's talking the jig heads for soft swimbaits...like these VMC's (which I have a selection of)- Never again.
Not the only one - I've yet to catch one on a Senko either Or a Stik-O...any stickworm really.- Post a photo a day!
Now you're just teasing us.- Ardent Reel Kleen
Nice to hear I've been doing it right all these years...thanks for that, Mike.- Post a photo a day!
I'd almost forgotten what open water looked like.- Dobyns frog rods.
Sierra - 735 for frogging ...if the weeds you're fishing aren't thick, maybe could drop to the 734 Kaden - 745 or 744 (same conditions) Champ XP - 735 or 734/744 (again, for sparser weeds). Champion can be split grip or full-cork...both types available for those rods. The flipping rods might look the same, but they are stouter in some respects...might be able to get by with the Champ XP 735C, but I'd still go with a dedicated flipping rod - the 765FLIP or 766FLIP- Dobyns frog rods.
Plus the Trout and Panfish Sierras now too (I have one on my wishlist)- You know you're country when?
Not when what you're working on replacing in that parking lot is a water pump....- You know you're country when?
I've done this and still consider myself a city-boy. Bad Sean for trying to mis-classify me!- Your Total Years
Ya - my second combo was gotten that way...only the 'stamps' were 'coupons' that Raleigh/Belair cigarettes had on the packs. Parent's both smoked, so we collected LOTS of those coupons.- Please be my Mentor
Hope you're talking cover Structure is the flats, hills, valleys, humps, ridges and drop-offs Cover is the weeds, drowned trees, sunken cars, etc.- Your Total Years
You beat me by a couple 1965 with my uncle for pickerel in MA. Started hoofing down to the local lake for panfish using a combo I ordered from the back of a comic book. Got a nice rod & reel for my birthday in 1967 (Mitchell 320 on a Shakespeare rod). Started hitting a stream nearby and catching trout in addition to the panfish. Caught my first bass about then...but didn't really concentrate on them. Fished lots through my teen years - pike, walleye and trout were my staples then. Moved into my current house in 1986. Lots of shore fishing or renting 14' semi-v fishing boats. Got my runabout in 1993, put a good 100hrs+ on it every summer. Started targeting bass about that time. Financial issues - sold the runabout around 2009...got the canoe in 2018 and dove right back into bass as a primary target. So fishing in general - about 57 years. Bass as primary target - about half that.- Ardent Reel Kleen
I keep to the same cleaners I've used for decades. Simple Green to get the worst of the grease/oil off parts Acetone for metal parts with a 91% Alcohol rinse after Just the 91% Alcohol for the rest It's worked...no need to 'redesign the wheel'.- Tips for kayaking around gators?
I'm with Andy - I'll stay up north here where we don't have to deal with gators.- Never again.
Wish I could legally use one here to see what all the hype is about Personally - Jigs, Dropshot, Whopper Ploppers and a few others mentioned have all produced for me. Different lakes I suppose.- 1st Crankbait specific rod Dobyns fury 705cb or Lew’s tp1 black
I have a Fuego CT 6.3:1 on a Fury 705CB...no plans to 'upgrade' that setup anytime soon.- Fantasy Fishing 2022 - Official Thread
Research? What the heck is that? I just pick people. Seth of course - gotta support the home-town boy. Rest - roll some dice. I'm still sitting with the picks I made soon as the system opened.- Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Needs to be 70+ in the garage - and the hull can't be 'cold' either - reason for the propane heater. Test run this past week when the outside temp maxed at 15...I got it up to 72 inside. - Fishmas in January Raffle
