Question about all-purpose spinning setup (Ugly Stik + Pflueger)
You looking to set up a panfish/finesse rig? Remember, the 25s are closer to a 1000 by others...my President-25 is about the same size/capacity as my Avocet RZT-1000

Question about all-purpose spinning setup (Ugly Stik + Pflueger)
The HMG is a decent rod - I'd pick that over the Ugly Stick. They have a 6'6 M/F matched with a Pres-30...right what you're looking for, for probably less than putting together a combo on your own.

Any way of fishing with a broken hand?
Talk to your doctor - that's the only safe way. Even if we had a doc on the forum, they'd have to have the X-Rays and examine you personally to make that judgement call. Certain movements could damage your hand more and give you at best a longer recovery time - at worst, a permanent disability...even with a cast 'immobilizing' the hand.

Which rod for all around finesse bass
I have the Fury 702SF and it's been great. Dropshot, light shakey or finesse jigs, weightless wacky, Ned rigs...though I usually do Neds on a lighter rig. Handles it all.

Question about all-purpose spinning setup (Ugly Stik + Pflueger)
Pflueger's size ratings don't exactly line up with others. The 25 is about a 1000 size, the 30 about a 2500 and the 35 about a 3000 when compared to other manufacturers. I'd also stay away from Ugly Sticks and go with something else. My preference would be an Aird-X, but Berkley Shock, Abu Vengence and Lews SG-1 would all be better choices than the Ugly. Line ratings are just about capacity, but I wouldn't put lines with much higher test on spinning reels, line memory becomes an issue more than anything else. One of my first bass rigs was a Pfleuger Trion-30 on a 6'6" Aird-X Medium rod. Served me well and I still have it for shore fishing even though I've upgraded the canoe rig to a President XT-30 on a 7' Dobyns Fury 703SF. So personally - the President 30 on a Aird-X Medium power...6'6" if you're primarily fishing from shore, 7' if you're out on the water. A quality 8# mono - Berkley Trilene XL or Sufix Elite - would be the line I'd put on it.

Well, Seth snuck into the final at 25th and two others made it as well at 6 and 19 so not terrible. See how they do today.

I might have found a way to avoid buying a lefty punch-reel. Pitching lefty.
I switched all my spinners to right-hand crank - slight bursitis in my right shoulder makes it more difficult to cast with my right...so cast with left, work the reel with right.

Shimano Stradic CI4+FB Spinning Reel
If it's the 2500 - right here for the exact replacement...they have 2 in stock. https://www.ereplacementparts.com/lineroller-p-3444838.html Note - it also fits the 1000, 3000 and 4000

Pflueger President XT
Ya - the XT-25 is an excellent panfish reel...would also make a great finesse rig with braid/FC leader...that's what my President-25 is doing. My XT-30 is on my Fury 703SF as my main wacky/shakey/weightless-worms reel.

Baitcaster Question
Then you want a reel with Centrifugal brakes instead of/in addition to Magnetics. Lews has reels in the $130-$150 range that are dual braking...including the new KVD reels. That's how I have mine set.

Request a primer on carbontex drag washers
That's what I had to do for my Mitchells - course I was making the drag washers myself.
-
Baitcaster Question
Keep a lookout as well - sometimes you can find deals. I got a used Pflueger Patriarch ($200 retail) for $70 by keeping my eyes open. Fantastic reel - wish I could find more of them at an affordable price. I do have two Fuego CTs and they're excellent reels in the $100 class.
-
Baitcaster Question
Better built - they last longer, metal frames have less flex than 'plastic' frames, more bearings make it smoother.

Minn heat wave turned me into a zombie
For some people - I could drown myself in cold water and still have a good chance of heat exhaustion in the weather we've been having. Some people can handle the heat, other's it's medically inadvisable...I fall into the latter category.

Interesting experience at BPS yesterday....this ever happen to you?
Only thing I've ordered from BPS in the past year was 1 - Extreme Qualifier 3700 bag...which they're now phasing out so can't get another unless from the auction site. 1 - BPS Advanced Angler 3600 - slight redesign of the Cabelas bag...already had a Cabelas one and two is all I need. That's it...and since my bag situation is settled - I don't even look at BPS/Cabelas site anymore.

Baitcaster Question
The only differences between the Fuego CT and the Tatula CT are Tatula has the T-Wing - Fuego has a standard aperture Tatula has two extra bearings...in the handle knobs - not internal Otherwise they're the same reel - same frame, main gears, spool, etc.

Jig Fishing Lb. Test
Or 12# InvizX if the Tatsu is too pricey for you.

Request a primer on carbontex drag washers
Calipers - measure the thickness, outside diameter and the inside-hole diameter of your current washers.

Shimano drag washers
Actually, the compass in the pic has a scriber tip instead of a graphite marking tip. Go round-and-round scribing through the sheet until you get done...takes a lot of turns. The set-tip of the compass makes an small hole...Royobi 18v with the right size TiN coated drill bit enlarges it to the proper size. The Exacto is just to trim up if needed.

Same thing I put on tacos - Ortega sauce.
