Awww, cute. My first FG knot. !!
Vise-grips and around the leg works for you, so it works. Long as you have tension it's fine...you could even just sit on the grips if need be..

2020 version of Daiwa SV TW vs older version of SV TW
Except that different people have different ideas of what's the best way to set the spool tension. How I set mine may not be how you set yours. Making it harder to adjust, IMO, is just a pain.

Awww, cute. My first FG knot. !!
If you're talking the vid from Salt Strong where Luke shows the pinky-finger method - ya, that's the one I use now for my FG tying. What ever way you find to get the tension on the braid, go ahead...it's a great main-leader knot and works on everything from my 50# PP/15# AbrazX to my 10# 832/6# InvizX

Is my scale right?
You could hang it upside-down while standing on your head and it'd still weigh the same.

Opinion? 20lb braid mainline overkill? Spinning setup
My President-25 is spooled with 10# 832/6# InvizX leader - about 70yds of the braid and the rest is 6# mono backing. I'm getting good distance - course I'm not shooting for the moon either - and haven't had a wind-knot yet.

Zoom, done?
It'd be just like Pure Fishing (who owns Berkley) to pick up Zoom - they just closed the deal on Plano last month...ya - Plano now sits with Abu, Berkley, Pflueger and others at the PF table

Zoom, done?
I just perused several business news sites - no one has anything on this at all. Right now it seems to be just rumor spreading across the 'Net.

Tackle Warehouse Issues
They seem like a great bunch of guys. If you ever get this side of the river - their storefront is in the industrial park on the NE corner of 55 and Douglas in Golden Valley - 1st light west of the 55/100 interchange.

2021 Minnesota Fishing Season
Wish me luck - my Wednesday trip got cancelled, but I'm heading out about sunrise tomorrow to get some fishing in before the wackos hit Tonka.

Scams!
I use to get those about once a month...on a 2001 that I bought used. I finally had enough, and the next time they called, I went to a live person and set off my pocket air-horn in their ear...that was January - haven't heard from them since.

Zoom, done?
Oh this would royally suck - I love my Zooms.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Possibility of your truck's engine exploding 'just because' exists too. If we went with 'no chance of failure' - we'd all be hermits, never going anywhere outside out homes. Oh, wait - even that's dangerous.... Sorry, with a father who has a masters in Nuclear Physics and is an early member of the American Nuclear Society...I have much more faith in nuclear power than the average person based on what he's told me over the years.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
If they'd stop building plants using low-bid contractors, it'd solve 90+% of the issues.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Long as they hold off the requirement or the jacked-up gas prices until my ashes are scattered. Given my family's longevity - that's 30-35 years.

Tackle Warehouse Issues
Ya, I avoid Wally-World like the plague - never shopped there, never will. I only stop in there when I absolutely have to. Locally - we have Scheels, Omnia, Fleet-Farm (the one in Carver has a large fishing section), and Cabelas... if I want to travel further, Sportsman's Warehouse and Joes Sporting Goods.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Had a topper on the old '98 WT-1500, '01 Silverado came with one - I got a LARGE 'trunk'.
-
Which jig heads do you use for shaky head?
Owner Ultraheads - screw-lock holds the plastic well and the hooks are top-notch.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Except I have a bum hip and a bum knee - not bad enough to 'require' surgery, so Medicare won't pay for it - but bad enough that just doing groceries has me in pain and needing to sit for a while when I get home. So 2 miles to bus-stop...out of my range. Bicycle - tried my old one, couldn't get more than 3 miles before I had to turn around and 'limp' home.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Re-read that My Silverado cost 6k - and it was touch-and-go to get that. That rebate better be 90% of the cost - else it's WAY out of my range...wife's and my SS and Retirement funds barely cover our living expenses...no extra for things like new car. Only way I could afford to get my canoe and gear was the yearly Yule checks from the parents...which were specifically noted "For personal enjoyment use only - not to pay bills".

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
What really bites is those of us who can't afford to go out and get a new car...even a slightly used one. Only way I was able to afford my 2001 Silverado in 2016 was 1/2 came out of the insurance settlement for my previous truck, and half was loaned to me by my father at 0%...Yule gift that year was 'forgiveness' of the remainder - I'd paid back 20% of his loan by then. If they make it so I have to get an electric either by legislating it, or raising the gas price to where I can't afford to even half-fill my tank - I'll be taking public transport everywhere. Oh - wait - closest bus-stop to my house is 2 miles away...scratch that. Guess I'll become home-bound.

Tackle Warehouse Issues
I've experienced the same thing - TW want's to wait 1 to 2 weeks to ship an order. Scheels got the same stuff to me within 3 days of the order being placed. I'm getting very disheartened with TW.

Have to brag !!
That is fantastic...give her my congratulations. Last person I know who did that was my sister with her math baccalaureate.....back in 1985.

Fishing gloves spin-off- face masks
Pretty much the reason I don't wear a buff at all. Sunscreen where the beard doesn't cover is about it...hat helps too.

Opinion? 20lb braid mainline overkill? Spinning setup
I'm running 10# 832 with 6# FC on my President-25/FR702SF...haven't had a wind knot yet, but I'm not trying to toss it far.
