Another one! We need more here. What area anyway - based on name I'd guess south Lake Minnetonka area by Excelsior?
  3. I would go with a 30 over a 25 for Medium work...I use a 25 size for finesse, a 30 on my medium. Yes, if you can swing the Supreme, go for it. It's a metal frame instead of plastic and over 1oz lighter. The Supreme also has a faster retrieve rate.
  4. Another is the Big Bites Pro Swimmer https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Big_Bite_Baits_Pro_Swimmer_Swimbait/descpage-BBBPS.html
  5. There's lots of info on converting a bow-mount TM to be installed in the stern. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=converting+bow+mount+trolling+motor+to+transom&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi6ssvd2v7tAhXJVs0KHUx7DccQ1QIoAHoECAsQAQ Basically, it involves reversing the head then figuring a way to mount it back there.
  6. Scale has to be certified by the state and labeled as such...with regular checks. So unless you paid the fee and had it checked, no...it wouldn't qualify.
  7. Dunno about lake records, but for state records... California's procedure is here: https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=40090&inline Application for California is here: https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=3420&inline Both the above and the saltwater forms are here: https://wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Records Basically for you - photos (to positively identify the species), weighed on a certified scale, and length/girth measurements (to validate the weight).
  8. You'd also have to change out line. What you'd want to use for frogging in cabbage wouldn't be good for weightless Senkos.
  9. This is why even though I haven't been camping in over a decade I still have some of my camping gear. One and two-burner propane fired stoves, propane fired grill, camp-oven for the stove-tops. You name it, I can probably make it with those.
  10. Reminds me of Halloween '91 Initial forecast, two days before it arrived - 3"-8" Revised the next day, day before it started - 5"-11" Third day, couple hours after it started - 8"-14" Fourth day, morning after it started - we got no idea how much we're going to get Ended up getting 28" in the metro, 37" in Duluth...in 3.5 days (Oct 31-Nov 3)
  11. Come to the dark side - we don't stick our fingers. I think I've purchased/used close to 10 packs of Owner bonnets in getting all my treble lures covered in the last couple years.
  12. Actually - Yo-Zuri has thin strands of nylon embedded in a fluorocarbon carrier, bonded together. Others, like Kast King are indeed just fluorocarbon coated single-strand nylon.
  13. $170 - Dobyns Kaden $230 - Dobyns Champion XP There's so many choices across the price spectrum, it's hard to pin down exactly.
  14. You have to be here more often to catch these things, Paul.
  15. Are you going mainly smaller topwater like poppers, WP-60/75, Zara Puppys and such. Or are you also looking at larger/heavier topwaters?
  16. Go to Tackle Warehouse - until the 8th, all Seaguar line is on sale for 30% off regular price...stock up.
  17. Yak Attack, YakGear, Scotty and Ram all make transducer arms for kayak/canoe that mount the transducer to the side. This is my Scotty mount on my canoe
  18. All of that area is like that - I know this from living for 6 years in Bemidji, which is the next 'major' town west of GR on US-2
  19. I think my cut-off point so far has been 10'-12'. Now that I got some deeper-diving lures, I'm gonna have to change that. Also - deeper jigging, more work with T-Rigs, and deeper drop-shotting. Having a better graph is going to help me locate 'more productive' areas too (old: Hook 2-4, new: Striker 7cv)
  20. Ya - they may have a vaccine and it may have been distributed to the various state's health departments...but the those departments don't have the money to distribute further...it's all gone to other issues from Covid. The states themselves don't have the money to give to the health departments for the same reason. Unless the money comes from somewhere, they're going to be sitting on those vaccine doses with no way to get them to the people. Don't toss your masks just yet - it's going to be a while.
  21. That's just it - all three of the shops that closed were withing spitting distance of Minnetonka - one of the best fishing lakes in the state...heck B.A.S.S. ranked it one of the top bass lakes in the central region. They also held several tournaments here in the 80s and 90s. https://www.bassmaster.com/best-bass-lakes/slideshow/best-central-bass-lakes-decade#slide11 It wasn't the lack of anglers - it was other issues and greedy developers.
  22. Depends on where you get it. I got mine from Fleet Farm for $44.99.
  23. ^ What Boomer said. Saying that - for that price-point...Diawa Aird-X. I'm upgrading to Furys from those, but last two seasons and next season, my flip/pitch rod is an Aird-X Heavy.
  24. I bought my truck used - but it had Weather Tech in the cab and the bed had been already coated in Rhino Hardliner.
