  1. Addendum to above - Scheels still has some 1000 and 2000 Avocet RTZs available on clearance for $29.99 - that's 1/3 off regular price.
  2. Indeed it is - as well as the 05 and 09 https://www.rapala.com/rapala/lures-by-type/crankbaits/shallow-shad-rap/Shallow+Shad+Rap.html?cgid=rapala-luresByType-crankbaits&taglist=Rapala|Lures By Type|Crankbaits#id=1&start=1&cgid=rapala-luresByType-crankbaits No Mike, you can't have my SSR-07 Silver - I use it...
  3. Most of my rigs it's either clear or green. For finesse rigs, however, I go with a bright color mainline for visual reference, with a clear or green leader.
  4. Except most boat capacities do NOT include things like - motor, tank, battery. So you have to subtract all that from the capacity - then your 'passenger weight' is what's left over.
  5. The wider the better for jon boats - some places still have 2019 models of the Tracker Topper 1542 for about the same price as the Alumacraft 1540 - might pay to search around a bit.
  6. Here's an article on the basics. https://newwiremarine.com/how-to/wiring-a-boat/ Another one about some tips and tricks. https://www.louisianasportsman.com/fishing/avoid-pitfalls-when-rewiring-your-boat/ A Google search on 'rewiring a boat' will bring up more.
  7. Over the last couple months I've picked up some Mitchell Avocet RZTs ranging from 1000 to 3000. They have some features found on more expensive reels...like a bearing in the line roller instead of a bushing. They're out of production now, but you can find them at various places.
  8. 4" here and people just grumble. Halloween Blizzard of 1991 - I still drove the 20miles each way to and from work all three days of the event...in a RWD sedan.
  9. Ya, Kent - keep that stuff out of our backyard. Clear and mid-upper 30s next week here.
  10. Fury 705CB with a Fuego CT-H (6.3:1); 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid - this is my main crank rig for any 5/16oz and up Okuma Stratus VI MH/M with a Mitchell Avocet RZT-2000 (25.0 IPT); 10# Sufix Advance - any cranks under 5/16 oz.
  11. X3 - Anything under a 3-power in Dobyn's BC and I go spinning. For the BFS guys, this is great - just not for everyone. P.S. Gary - could you please come out with a 4 power spinning rod in the Fury line? Please? Maybe a 5 power too?
  12. Any model of the Plano Waterproof Stowaways - they seal so you'll 'trap air' in them - so they float.
  13. I could go on, but I'll refrain. $30 and up rods that people use for bassing come in MH. I will admit - for a Heavy - need to go to Inshore.
  14. Diawa Tatula XT, Dobyns Sierra & Champion XP, St Croix Avid - not 'popular' bass rods...got it.
  15. Posted this in the other thread too - reason I won't go to the GT knot.
  16. I looked at the GT - then found this little tidbit and went away from it.
  17. It's a little harder to find one - but not terribly difficult. I wanted a MH spinning rig, and found a number of MH and even some H spinners. My issue was finding one in my budget, but I did get one...just waiting on the reel for it.
  18. Or the autographed BOC baseball cap I got back in '82 during the 'Fire' tour. Far as the Gary Y cap - wear it proudly...caps are meant to be worn with very few exceptions.
  19. It's a pain waiting - placed an order for a Fury 703SF when Legacy had their 25% off sale before BF. Still waiting for them to get the rod in stock and ship it to me.
  20. True - they will see T-Rigs - but I like having plastics that can fulfill more than one role. "The Trick Worm was the original floating worm," "Often copied, but never matched, the original Finesse Worm is a smaller version of the popular Zoom Trick Worm" Right from https://zoombait.com/
  21. Ya - don't assume that the reel comes 'perfectly' lubed. I've gotten new-in-box Pfluegers that were packed with grease and needed to be cleaned out. Others have reported that their new-in-box reels came dry - no grease or oil at all.
  22. As they're also floaters - shakey head or Gamy Finesse Jig
  23. Revell and Monogram merged. AMT was bought by Round-2 - which has put out a number of new-mold models. Fine Molds out of Japan is the third 'major player'.
  24. Other than one rod and one reel that have already been paid for - this is the last of this winter's purchases. Couple more colors of Trick Worms, a selection of Finesse Worms and some swimbait hooks
