  1. As people who were in the Zoom-meet earlier can attest to - I enjoyed a Murphy's tonight while chatting.
  2. It was nice 'seeing' Frydog' again - last time we met was face-to-face at a little meeting he arranged at a local pub a year-and-a-half ago. I think for the working stiffs - bi-weekly would work best.
  3. Half my rigs in the canoe are spinners - for me, certain techniques call for BC, others call for spinners.
  4. Dean said he'd look into scheduling another one at some point. Some people have lives outside BR...unfortunately.
  5. Nice to put names to all the faces here...fun time
  6. EWG hook - check Larger split ring - check Dipsy sinker - check Yep - can do it here.
  7. You Eastern time zone? Then that's right. 8EDT, 7CDT, 6MDT, 5PDT
  8. Everyone come join the party...
  9. Here, have an online PDF copy of the service manual for that motor that you can save to your computer. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OhD6csgOPkj3DCgNQ8siOR5gEdWaeohQ/view
  10. I should have called up my grand-uncle and had him get me into the USCG Academy instead of going enlisted in the USAF
  11. Ya - sometimes I don't know what Gary and Co are thinking with their recommendations for lures. I use them in general, but pretty much decide based on the lure/line weights listed as to what I use them for. I'd consider the 703 and 733 as pretty much the same rod - you will get a bit more distance casting with the 733...longer rod=more distance but less accuracy.
  12. Okay - that changes my schedule for dinner - was going to have it early so that I'd be in on time.
  13. If it's a 'Braid Ready' spool (my President-25 is), it's still a good idea to put at least a couple layers of mono under the braid - or a single layer of electrical tape direct on the bare spool, then the braid on top of that.
  14. From the invitation E-Mail you should have received "When: 11/23/2020 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM" From this thread - about midway. Yes it is, I believe I mentioned that, my apologies if I didn't. Unless Zoom automatically changes the time based on your time-zone...
  15. If you're Central time - then it'd be 6...7pm start is for Eastern.
  16. You can change it at will - go to your profile page https://us05web.zoom.us/profile
  17. I'm planning to do more soft plastics in 2021. This year was mainly about the hard-baits...cranks, jerks, spinners, swim jigs...next year I'm going to do more bottom contact, especially T-Rigs (I WILL catch a bass on a T-Rig...I will, I will). Go to Rapalas site...I had to do a mass hook add - got a bunch of lures for free that didn't have hooks - so ordered direct.
  18. Up to you really - I have my Zoom 'display name' set to my real first name with my BR handle in parenthesis.
  19. Ya, and the only Mag-Heavy in the Fury line is 7'3"
  20. Ya - I'm in the same boat. Really only have a few 'expensive' lures...and most of those were gifts. I think there's only one lure I paid more than $10 for in my bag(s).
  21. Okay - so that means I can't wait until 7 my time...have to log in about 6.
  22. Oh...Dean...one question...is the scheduled time Eastern?
  23. Just making an observation about how different manufacturers rate their rods. You and me both...can't skip worth a darn with a BC - no issues with a spinner.
  24. Funny thing is - there's a difference between spinning and casting rods Fury 703SF is marked as a Medium Fury 703C is marked as a Medium-Heavy Same power number - two different word-ratings...this is why I look at the numbers instead of the words.
  25. Problem is, the 664 isn't what I call a 'true' heavy...it's lure rating is what most others call a MH - only goes to 1oz max lure. Ya, frogs are lighter than that, but I want that extra 'oomph' to pull the bass out of the cabbage. Would be great for short-rod fans if Gary made a 5 power in 6'6" lengths. Closest I can find is a Diawa Fuego - 6'9" H/F (1/4 to 1-1/2oz)
