  1. "I love it when a plan comes together." That's what we're here for - helping others where we can. Nice to see everything worked out.
  2. ^ Listen to the man who TRAINED for this type of thing.
  3. Where-as 1/10 is my go to...no matter the depth.
  4. She had good taste...at least in cars. jk (runs away chuckling)
  5. 1. How often do you go fishing? Anytime I can - try for once a week, but home situation varies. This year I've been out 8 times since April 2. What type of fishing do you usually do? (fresh, salt, target species) Bass mainly, but I do target panfish from shore - especially my last couple outings. 3. How do you hear about new products? Social media? Friends? Online? Here - I'm not on social media, have no close friends...so BR is my one-stop location for information on new things. 4. When buying a new product what makes you finally decide to purchase it? Reviews? Friends Recommendations? Reviews here and the couple web-sites I visit on occasiona. 5. Where did you usually shop pre covid-19? In stores? Online? Online for 95%+, occasional stops in local stores, but most of my purchasing has been through Amazon and TW 6. Does the fishing industry have enough gadgets? There's always room for improvement...though most of the things coming out lately have been out of my budget. 7. How much do you spend yearly on fishing equipment? I get $1000 from the parents every year as a Yule gift...that's my total budget for fishing gear and canoe upgrades for the following year.
  6. I don't trust the water in my town - I get gallon jugs of purified water for $0.39/gallon.
  7. I'm not in THAT much of a hurry...I turn my pot on as I head out the back door for my first cig of the day...coffee is usually done by the time I come back in.
  8. You're suppose to rinse your coffee cup? I go through a pot a day, no sugar but a splash of creamer (International Delight...not those fakes)
  9. Those are like my second car - 1976 Charger SE, though mine had red vinyl over the rear top.
  10. Yep - for those who are adamant about using BCs, this is the ticket for Ned, Dropshot, etc. I prefer spinning rigs for finesse techniques.
  11. To be fair - the Colt has the same 1-year as the Aird-X rods do...so no difference there.
  12. Rejoinder - it's a good rod in that price-class. I think it fishes above it's price-point - but if I had the money, I'd replace all my Aird-X rods with Dobyns Furys. I think the Aird-X is close enough to the Dobyns Colt, that I'll take the $25 price difference there.
  13. Ya...I've had two Ugly Stick spinning rods - one 6'0' Medium and one 5'6" Ultra-Light. My Aird-X 6'6" Medium is lighter and more responsive My Spinmatic 6'6" Ultra-Light is head-and-shoulders above the Ugly - and it's less expensive. Ugly Sticks are for those who are going to abuse their rods - but they're heavier and feel 'dead' compared to other rods in the same price-class.
  14. @Delaware Valley Tackle - Mike, want to give this guy some hints?
  15. They've been around a while (1947) - smaller version of Fleet-Farm, headquartered here in MN. MN companies are usually very good - it's called being 'Minnesota Nice'.
  16. 1: They'll have a record of when you purchased it. 2: They might want a pic e-mailed. 3: Better on-line retailers (Amazon, TW, AL, etc) are good about making things good for the customer.
  17. Mis-handling a rod will break even the best $500 rod. Since it's still so new - I'd go with Diawa's warranty and take it back to where you bought it (don't forget the receipt).
  18. ^ ^^ What Mike and Luke say. I've got 4 Aird-X rods in my lineup, and despite some hang-ups have yet to snap even one. I've been impressed with them so far, and they've been plenty strong enough.
  19. Tsunami gear is directed towards saltwater. The Bracer line might be an old one that's not made anymore, or it could be a store specific line - like the Nitrous by Quantum is Field&Stream/Dick's Sporting Goods specific. You can try asking Tsumani direct - Tsunami fishing tackle is imported by: Tsunami Tackle/Bimini Bay Outfitters Phone: 800.688.3481 Message them via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tsunamitackle/
  20. I've put Mr. Twisters on them, 3" Paddletails and even used Gammy Finnese jig-heads with offset hook in 3/32oz and Berkley 4" Power-worms and Rib-worms.
  21. Lost my shootin' eye almost six years ago - tried going 'off-hand', but never could get the hang of it. Sold my hunting weapons after that.
  22. I'm running 40# Sufix 832 braid with 6' of 12# YZH as a leader...that's on the MH/F. No problems setting the hook solid.
  23. Just saw this... I run my moving baits on a 7.3:1. Sometimes you want to 'burn' them near the surface, and the faster reel makes it easier to do. Only thing I run on 6.3:1 is cranks/jerks. I also do jigs on on the 7.3. However I do know that some work moving baits with 6.3...just not my personal preference.
  24. I keep my fishing license in my wallet - never go anywhere without that - for times I shore fish without my tackle bag. My canoe registration is in the plastic pocket of my tackle bag - tackle bag is always in the canoe.
  25. Same here - I'll use Jawbone spinnerbaits (DSG/F&S home brand)...but for inlines, nothing less than Mepps will do.
