Help with ID old wood lures
Found a pic of my old tackle-box with the Hellbender...and yes, I remember buying it with that name.

Help with ID old wood lures
Bottom one is an old Heddon Hellbender - or knockoff. I use to carry one (yellow with black spots) in my tacklebox when I targeted Northern Pike, but I don't know what happened to it.

KVD moving to Lew's
Yep, totally useless now. What you need to to is Pack it up securely and ship it to me...I'll see to it's 'disposal'.

Just Got a Fuego CT Today
That's what I got my Fuego set at...and I'm launching anything from 3/8 oz hollow frogs to WP-110s with VERY rarely any backlash.

If I'm on the water, the PFD is on...without fail.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
Well, with the water temp dropping and needing to get my feet wet to launch/land the canoe...that's my limiting factor.

Canoe modification
Haven't even looked into to...I don't get much noise from the bottom anyway.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
I just hope the predicted winds on Tuesday calm down, otherwise I'm not getting out for what could be my final trip of the year.

I was infected at a young age as well.

How strong is this simple drop-shot knot?
I used that knot and it seemed to work fine. Double line through the eye IS preferable, but since I fish Drop-Shot on 8#, I don't think it's critical. Now I use VMC spin-shot hooks and the 'Multifile-Knoten' at all attachment points.

Things you believe could or should be banned...
I'll agree with all that with the proviso that the wind should be less than 10mph.

Doc has given up on me - she said my case is terminal.

Show off your Stuff
Given the rating on the Avid-X - sounds like a swimbait rig.

Imagine this situation and you're in a canoe...that's my every outing.

The latest sale thread
Been there - ran a custom cabinet-making business for a while...custom fit bookcases, display cases, curio cabinets. I did my own taxes and luckily my wife has an AA in Accounting.

The latest sale thread
Minnesota specifically exempts 'occasional' sales. So someone having a yearly garage sale, or selling something personally on the net - like the 'sale/trade' topic here - is specifically exempt...so if I sold something here, I wouldn't have to collect sales tax. https://www.revisor.mn.gov/rules/pdf/8130.5800/2014-01-18 09:51:50+00:00

Current Favorite Bladed Jig / Chatterbait Rod ?
Chatter/Spinner/Buzz - all on the MH/F Aird-X with the President loaded with 20# Power Pro.

Buying a new bait cast reel- What do you look for?
I pretty much ignore the fit as I don't palm my reels, but the IPT is a deciding factor depending on what I'm going to use it for.
-
What size line would you use for crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater?
I do cranks and jerks either on the Nitrous with 12# Trilene XL or the Trion with 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Lighter topwaters (plugs) go on the Nitrous but heavier topwaters (WPs, Heddon Super Spook) go on the Fuego or President with 50# or 20# Power Pro respectively.

Jig n Spinner
I put curly tails on my beetle spin. It's the spinner and jig that make it, not the 'trailer'.

Jig n Spinner
Otherwise known as the old Beetle-Spin - a classic that catches quite a few species.

Cheapest substitutes for the most expensive lures?
My only spinnerbait catches this year were on DSG's 'Jawbone' line.
