Site Appears Real Slow
Slow I wouldn't mind - it's this message... "Secure Connection Failed The connection to www.bassresource.com was interrupted while the page was loading." ...that irks me.

Fishing websites censored?
10-to-1 - one of the site owners/moderators posted here in a way (probably more than once) that violated the stated rules. Punishment (I think) is that the site-name is added to the profanity filter list...so it stars out the name.

Problem with BR loading..Anyone else get this.??
My Firefox and Chrome are having the same issue - 'Secure Connection Failure'. Happens randomly and is getting to be a pain.

Post a photo a day!
Wish I could use my fireplace - which is central to the main floor...but the wife's asthma has gotten worse over the years and flares up bad with even a small fire.

BPS Pro Qualifier II Limited Edition on sale
Cabelas has them too - as I posted in the 'The Latest Sale Thread'. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/175280-the-latest-sale-thread/?do=findComment&comment=2495096

Winter weather ‘19-‘20
It's been over for me...launching the canoe this year required me to get my feet wet. I got a trailer mod I'll be doing over the winter to fix that issue. But with air temps plunging below freezing and not going above it for at least the next week - nope, not me...I don't want to freeze my tootsies off.

Fish Location in Northern, Weedy Lakes - Depth
Third option - what depth IN the weeds. Remember that bass are ambush predators, so in most instances they'll find someplace to hide while waiting for a meal to come by. Whether that's behind a rock, close up under a lily-pad, or buried in the hydrilla/milfoil waiting to pop-out at a passing sunfish/perch/baby bass/whatever. Fishing the weedline finds the ones that are at the edges, but the prey also try to hide in the weeds to keep from being eaten. So you have to find where the baitfish are...that'll more likely be where the bass are.

Lake Minnetonka - Milfoil vs. Structure
Oh definitely - maybe not to the extent of covered structure...but bottom-bouncing jigs (football), drop-shots and even Ned-rigs have produced on bare structure.

RETIRED ANGLER'S WINTER SCHEDULE
We've got the same thing, they chat or watch movies - unfortunately she's only available 1-2 times a week for 4-5 hours in the AM...so it's always morning trips that are planned You must have a regular boat...even a jon-boat would be better than a canoe in wind and rain.

Lake Minnetonka - Milfoil vs. Structure
My personal experience? Structure before cover. Humps, points, etc are the collection places...if they have cover, so much the better.

RETIRED ANGLER'S WINTER SCHEDULE
My interference comes from the fact that the wife is semi-disabled and I'm her PCA. We get someone in once a week, but it's gotta be planned the week before...therefore the reason behind non-trips for if the weather is crappy for the canoe on the scheduled day, I can't go out.

San Diego/Inland Empire Bass Fishing Locations
I have 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid on my Trion which I mainly use for crank/jerk baits. But I have been known to put 3/8 and under T-Rigs and Jigs on that as well so long as I stay out of the heavy slop. I think it's a pretty good, all-around strength for a variety of techniques. There are some techniques you'd want to go lighter or heavier with the line, but 10# will do quite a few things.

Slowing Down With 7.3:1 Reel
Just don't directly apply the gear ratio of spinners vs BCs. Spinners usually have a larger spool diameter, so a faster retrieve. BC - my Nitrous - 6.1:1 yields 23 IPT Spin - my Trion-30 - 5.2:1 yields 25.9 IPT

San Diego/Inland Empire Bass Fishing Locations
Having the drag set properly and playing the fish rather than trying to horse it in. I've caught a 12# pike on 8# test line - of course it took 20-30 minutes to play it until it was tired...but I did catch it.

RETIRED ANGLER'S WINTER SCHEDULE
Just be sure to keep busy, otherwise you fall into a rut. And yes, it's rough getting here - been 'here' for 4 years now.

Post a photo a day!
Good wishes for a speedy recovery, little man.

Slowing Down With 7.3:1 Reel
I do cranks and jerks on the 6.1:1 BC or the 5.2:1 spinner (near the same IPT). Spinners, chatters go on the 7.3:1 and if need be, I slow the retrieve.

Winter weather ‘19-‘20
Well, we got predictions of a morning snow 3 days of the next ten. And starting next Thursday, we don't climb above freezing for a number of days. So ya, winter is definitely on it's way. The time to tear down the rods and do maintenance on the reels is fast approaching.

Helix 5 and Helix 7 Linking
Captive audience - like Apple use to be...you couldn't use a third party anything in the old Apples, had to buy from them. Ethernet is a standard protocol, the connectors should be too.

Helix 5 and Helix 7 Linking
My word - where are you getting your cables or are they specialty cables? Micro-Center my friend - 10' cables: $10 for Cat-5, $15 for Cat-6, $26 for Cat-7.

What technique would you teach to a beginner angler?
First choice - T-Rigged anything: stickbait (Senko, BPS Stik-O, etc), curly-tail worm, lizard, large craw. Second choice - Jigs: Arky/Football dragged/hopped along the bottom or swim-jig higher up through the weeds

High tech diagnostics......
I've caught more Northerns on spinning gear than baitcasters. Just needs to be a decent spinner...my old Mitchell 320 killed them.

Foregrip or no foregrip?
Same here as I don't palm my reels.
