How long of leader for dropshot ? And smallmouth baits
If you know the exact height of the weeds - inch or two above that. Otherwise wing it...I fish drop-shots above the weeds, not in them. I use curly-tail worms, curly or twin-tail grubs, or lizards...the little twitches give them some action.

Right Vs Left - Opinion?
What's this...the third left/right thread this year so far? Anyway...I'm a righty, but cast with my left. That leaves my right hand able to start retrieving immediately. I CAN cast with my right and retrieve left, as I had to with the now retired Pflueger 640, but as my left arm is stronger/steadier than my right, I'm happy the way it is now.

Super glue your baits? How to keep them on longer
Super glue is fairly non-toxic, the only danger to skin is if it cures rapidly which might cause heat burns. They use it in surgeries for closing small wounds instead of stitches.

Would I be able to frog fish with an 6' 6" heavy or a 7' medium heavy ugly stik
Personally - I'd use the heavy. Need something with enough backbone to haul the bass out of the weeds it's taken that frog down into.

Berkley rods and Havoc line
I looked at the Lightning and Shock rods as I had an old Berkley Enforcer that gave me many years of good use. Then I looked at the Diawa Aird-X line...decided to pay that extra bit as they seem of higher quality.

First spinning rod help
Sizes are the numbers at the end Revo-S 10 (REVO2S10) weighs 7.4oz, holds 110 yds of 6# mono Revo-S 20 (REVO2S20) weighs 7.5oz, holds 120 yds of 8# mono Supreme-XT 30 (SUPXTSP30X) weighs 6.8oz, holds 145yds of 6# mono or 130yds of 8# mono. My finesse rig is the Avocet RZ-2000, reel weighs 8.7oz, holds 190yds of 8#. I'm thinking of 'upgrading' to an Avocet RZT-1000, weight is 7oz, holds 110yds of 6# or 80yds of 8#. The RZT has twice the bearings of the RZ, but basically the same reel.

First spinning rod help
If I had that budget... One of either of these rods Dobyns Sierra 700SF St. Croix Avid AVS70MLF (little over your top $, but not by much) And I'd pick one of these reels Abu Garcia Revo-S - either 10 or 20 Pflueger Supreme-XT 30

Close bail manually?
I always flipped the bail back manually...except on my old Pflueger 640 - look at pic below See the notch in the upper right of the bail holder? See the little piece on the left side of the bail holder? That piece is a lever that locks the bail open, you HAD to turn the handle as it was an internal mechanism that lifted that lever out of the notch to let the bail close.

Does wiping the slime off fish not matter anymore?
It still matters. The slime coat is what protects fish from parasites, bacteria, etc. They continuously renew it and the pathogens that are trapped in the slime are removed when the old coat is shed. Removing the slime coat, even in a small spot, can open them up to disease. The slime also contains antibodies and enzymes that attack pathogens. Ignore the videos of people 'rough' handling fish. Make sure to wet your hands if you have to grab them by the body so that you do as little harm to the slime coat as possible. <- Aquatic Biology major in college.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
First chance I had to go out. Just popped down to a shore spot on Emerald Lake as I didn't have the time to launch/land the canoe. Didn't get skunked, but nothing but little ones. Mepps Comet #0 in Shad for the first hour, worms the second. 5 Pumpkinseeds, 6 Bluegill and 4 LMBs...nothing over 7" BUT I DIDN'T GET SKUNKED! First catch of the year.

Spinning Reel Question
My first 'real' reel was a Mitchell 320...so I'm use to the mid-size to smaller reels.

How bass get hooked with live bluegill?
Just make sure it's legal to use live bluegill as bait in your state. For example, MN prohibits use of bluegill, perch, crappie, sunnies as bait - live or dead.

Spinning Reel Question
Got that straight - my President 25 is smaller than my Avocet RZ-2000.
-
Bedding bass
Hmmm...how about a light drop-shot set shallow - 1/8oz weight with the hook 6"-8" up rigged with a curly tail or lizard. Drop or drag it into the bed then just twitch it.
-
Bedding bass
I'd pull a jerk or shallow crank past her - something different than the soft baits.

Bedding bass
First question - what have you tried so far?

Annoying Commercials
We still do the disc service. Reason? Several 1) The DVD library is many times the size of the streaming library. Classic movies and TV shows that are available on disc aren't available to stream. 2) Video quality is better...streaming can't handle Blu-Ray quality picture, but you can get Blu-Rays through the disc service 3) More content...with the Blu-Ray disc, you get all the bonus features, you don't get those with the streaming service.

Annoying Commercials
There's a reason I 'cut my cable' ten years ago and haven't regretted it one whit.

Spinning Reel Question
For my Bass fishing I have two spinners. A Trion-30 for small cranks/jerks and unweighted T-rigs and wacky rigs. For my finesse fishing - drop shots, Ned rigs, etc - I use the Avocet-2000. I looked at 35 and 40 size reels and they were too large for my taste.

Minnesota Fishing Report - 2019
I'm hoping to also get out for a bit on Saturday...but I'm avoiding 'Tonka like the plague.

Urinating
Do a Google search on MN Defense attorneys...they all state that exposing yourself in public - unless at a designated Nudist spot or a breastfeeding mother - is indecent exposure. And the law is very specific

Urinating
Here's where it gets fun...if they had decided to charge him and he was found guilty. Up to 90 days in jail and/or $1000 fine. Unless someone under 16 saw him...then it's up to a year in jail and/or $3000 fine as that's a Gross Misdemeanor. And if he's caught a second time and someone under 16 saw him....Felony - up to 5 years in prison and/or $10,000 fine...and registered as a 'Sex Offender'. Really want to chance that just to be able to pee over the side of your boat?
