what technique have you never tried?
Swimbait, Whopper Plopper, Pitching/Flipping. With the new rigs and a gift of a couple WPs, I'll be giving those last two a go this year.

The Rod & Reel BALANCE Thread
In my experience - comparing older rigs that balanced further forward that I've retired to the newer ones. The difference in stress applied might only be a few ounces, but over a day of fishing those few ounces 'add up'. One of the reasons I upgraded all my rigs was for better balance as my wrist was less tired after a day of fishing with the better balanced rigs. It might not make much difference to you...but to my aged muscles it makes all the difference.

I lucked out with this, bought the rig as a combo. Used it last year and was pleasantly surprised at the quality...Mitchell did good with this one.

Weather Safety Reminder ~ PSA
If there are thunderstorms in the forecast, I'm not going out. No matter what, I wear my PFD from the time I launch until the time I land.

The Rod & Reel BALANCE Thread
Oh why not - all my rigs balance around the same point. Here's a shot of my Finesse rig.

Welcome to the boards. Sit back, grab an ale and learn - that's what I've been doing.

Help with a rod
As @Glaucussaid, a bit long - but workable for Ned Rigs and Drop-Shots.

Overwhelmed With Soft Plastics
I may not have as many as some here, but I do try to keep them organized.

Days on the water....
Got that straight...hopefully ice-out will be at least a week earlier than last year. The way the shore-ice is retreating on Minnetonka, it's probably a safe bet.

The Rod & Reel BALANCE Thread
I know that what I like as a balance point, others would not. Everyone has individual tastes, so everyone's rig would be different based on that personal preference.

Life jacket recommendations! Need Auto and Foam
Ya, it's for the same idiots that shampoo labels have "Not for internal use" on them.

Life jacket recommendations! Need Auto and Foam
Gotta read the fine print - for example: In Minnesota, Type V inflatables are NOT legal while operating PWCs. "Inflatables are not approved for use on personal watercraft or while water-skiing or similar sports." http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/boatwater/boatingguide.pdf Page 19

While the USGC sets the base standard - each state can make the laws a bit tougher. Your state may indeed NOT include Type V - no matter what the USGC rating is - as a valid PFD under certain conditions. Check your state's regulations - don't rely on the manufacturer's statement.

Dobys Fury Spinning guide issues?
Make sure you order from a 'drop shipper'...someone besides Amazon who fulfills the order. That's how I ordered all my rods from Amazon - all came in a hard tube with plenty of air-bubble filler to protect the rod.

It doesn't help that the temps don't know what they want to do.

Looks at update - looks at 10"+ of ice on local lakes - starts crying.

Hate PWC's? Well, this might change your mind.
Those are designed to mount to the stabilizers on a standard motor. With the vectored-thrust jet-drive of a Sea Doo, you don't have that available. It'd have to be a 'hull-mount' for it to fit.

Transporting a Tracker Topper 1036
I have to agree with this. Got my canoe last year, 6-1/2' bed for 14' canoe. Used an bed extender and it helped...but carting all my gear in and out of the canoe to load/unload was a pain. That's why I got the trailer this year. Keep all my gear in it as I store it in the garage. No loading/unloading of rods/tackle needed...haul it out of the garage, hook it to my truck and go.

Transporting a Tracker Topper 1036
Trailer option is this one - this is what I got for my canoe...though I'm getting a replacement for the tongue piece to make it longer. Little over $500 - very reasonable. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200612542_200612542

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
Disable the login so it's always on and 'up'? I can do that with my Galaxy, if I-Phones can't do that...then I'm glad I got the Galaxy.

The urge to buy stuff just because !
Given what I spent this winter on rigs, baits and canoe mods plus the trailer, I better get some fish otherwise my cost/bass is going to be enormous. Far as urge to buy things - my wish lists at various places just keep growing...

A-Jay's Inaugural Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Up till a few years ago, you couldn't even target bass until the bass opener on Memorial Weekend. They added C&R starting when walleye/pike season opened due to demand. So for 2 weeks it's C&R only...THEN I can start adding eatin' size bass to the freezer.
