  1. I notice that DSG does that a lot. Advertises a % off, but they've jacked up the MSRP so that the % off price is either the normal price at other places or still higher. Even though it's the closest 'big box' sport shop to me, I don't go there anymore.
  2. When did she let you out from the last time? ?

It's a small willow-leaf blade on a barrel swivel with the other end being one of those worm-screws. You screw it into the tail-end of the worm and it adds flash.
  4. Do the wires from the charger to the battery(ies) have a break - even a partial break (most of the conductor wires in the cable-sheath broken) can affect the charging. Visually check for kinks or breaks in the insulation. Do a continuity check along the entire length.
  5. I think I'm lucky - all my setups with reel installed balance 1"-2" in front of the seat. I know some will think 'tip heavy', but this is my preferred balance point. Once line is put on, the balance point will shift back...slightly...but it's a go for casting based on my preferences.
  6. My winter projects on the canoe Replace mid and rear seat - installed, still need to paint Install outriggers - done Route wiring for TM - done Acquire and build trailer - need replacement tongue piece Total costs this winter on canoe - @800 when it's all said and done.
  7. A spinning reel should never be that full.
  8. Long as you orient the soft-baits properly. With things like my Mepps Comets, I put them in the box so that the tie end is 'down' and the soft-plastic tail is 'up' when the boxes are in the bag. My worm boxes orient so that the soft plastics are on their sides.
  9. Considering VMC is owned by Rapala - it's not surprising they use those hooks.
  10. Luckily I'm not one of those. My previous truck, WT-1500, which I had from '98 to '16 had a 5-on-the-floor. Prior to that, a Jeep Cherokee with a 4-on-the-floor. Still see no need for the on-off switch for the anti-reverse...you see on on baitcasters?
  11. Off the top of my head? Hand-held short-wave radio. Everyone on the same frequency and it's a 'party line'.
  12. Beats me - I always have it turned on. The drag is what helps fight the fish, having the anti-reverse switch off would have the reel-handle smacking your fingers every time the fish took a run.
  13. With a little luck, I'll be there.
  14. I'll be using Power Pro Spectra, 50# on my Fuego. Depending on how thick the weeds and slop are, you might want to go up to 65#.
  15. Just for comparison, Pflueger and Mitchell also put the anti-reverse switch on the bottom as evidenced by my reels.
  16. Well, it's either deal with the traffic, order the part from the approved vendor, or void the warranty all-together. If something else breaks that's major and you've voided the warranty, you're out of luck. I'd deal with the traffic personally.
  17. Unless you get a new part directly from Pflueger's approved parts-vendor or have them repair it, you'll void the warranty. According to http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/Pflueger-reel-parts.html https://www.ereplacementparts.com/pflueger-parts-c-186372.html is the authorized place to get replacement parts .
  18. I can state without a doubt that this year's ice-out on Minnetonka will be earlier than last year's. Last year tied the record for latest ice-out (previous was in 1857). With temps climbing into the 50s this week and plenty of sunshine, I think it'll be 2 maybe 3 weeks until I can get my canoe on the water. Might be earlier for a couple of the smaller lakes.
  19. Definitely. Up to last year I used a Plano 6-tray tackle box and it was full. This winter I bought a Cabela's Advanced Anglers Tackle Bag in the large size. It'll fit 6-3600 size Plano stowaways in the main compartment and one more in the front pocket. Not only did I fit my entire old tackle box in there, I had plenty of room to purchase more tackle. I've since added a Plano Weekender tackle bag which holds 4-3600 size boxes...all my plastics are in there. Two lightweight bags with shoulder straps and I carry everything I have with some room still to add more tackle.
  20. Slowly warming this week until highs are in the 50s and lows don't go below freezing. We might just pull out of this winter after all. Ice is still thick enough that the ice-fishers are still going out, but that might change within a week or so.
  21. Until the water warms up, I wear 3M Thinsulate fingerless gloves over nitrile exam gloves...you know, the ones the doc wears when he/she is.... ya. The nitrile ones keep the water from actually contacting the skin...which is where most of the heat loss occurs...while still allowing me full dexterity for casting, retrieving and even changing lures.
  22. He might have - but I'll bet you anything that there's someone out there right now saying to themselves "He might have been caught, but I won't be" Morons like that are a dime a dozen.
  23. Whichever one I have a fish on the other end of the line.
  24. I think he should also lose his fishing rights for life. If he's cheating during a contest...what else is he doing when he's just out tossing line?
