  1. My kit has the afore mentioned lenght of braid, also superglue, a razor knife, some type of soap or hand sanitizer, a lighter and bandages. Be safe yall!
  2. I love braid but it can snarl itself onto a buzzbait something awful. Gotta go with 15lb Maxima mono.
  3. Sounds like a good rod for topwaters with treble hooks and possibly bladed jigs as well.
  4. I fish the Cumberland through Nashville but never Cordell. Be mindful of water generation as TVA absolutely rips the current on that river. Its unfishable 6 months out of the year the current is so strong. Pulling 33K CFS this evening. Thats nearly whitewater.
  5. That is an outstanding idea. Please let us know how it turns out. Better yet, I am going out to the garage and starting on my own!
  6. So Glenn, how many does that make in your collection? This aughta be good!
  7. The lakes in my area are full of either wood or grass so its almost always a texas rigged Netbait finesse worm. Caught my PB spotted bass and my best dropshot largie on it, plenty of smallies as well. Unfortunately they quit making it in black but their GP is actually green as opposed to brown like some manufacturers. That little worm is not super sexy but it flat catches em. If I can get away with a nose hook, Jackal Crosstail shad or Yum Warning Shot work well. Hope that helps bro!
  8. I fish water about the same color as yours. For smallmouth, if I could not have some variety of green pumpkin, black would be #2. Its not always about imitating a certain forage, but being seen.
  9. Watched my brother catch a junky old spinning combo on a crankbait and within 10 minutes kick his beloved 8' flippin stick over the side. He was not impressed when I reminded him of his lovely new scum covered spinning combo.
  10. There's are a lot to love about our sport and the learning just might be my favorite part. Toasting a beer to you NGB. You are a better fisherman today than yesterday and isnt it awesome!?!
  11. Hey JA, Have you caught any bass on that Dr. Evil?
  12. Its all about your comfort level in the boat and the likelihood of flipping it. I use my beater equipment when kayaking so no tears will be shed if it goes to the bottom. Bird, I am impressed sir. 1. That you flipped a jonboat. 2. That you owned it!
  13. I agree wholeheartedly with you, Bird and Coldbasser! So many questions answered by so many generous, knowledgeable anglers. Thank you Bass Resource for helping me be a smarter angler today than I was yesterday.
  14. I think its an older Zman. Cant recall buying any other brand. Its 3/4 oz. Another photo...
  15. Can someone please help me ID this chatterbait. Thanks yall.
  16. I have the Irods jr swimbait rod and it will throw swavers very easily. It is a very light, well balanced rod. However, it is rated as moderate-fast but I find it leans more fast than moderate. I also have a 13Fishing Defy crankbait rod I gave a whopping $59 for and its a fantastic crank rod-nice and bendy. Liked it so much I bought two! Its rated up to 2oz and I throw 6th Sense's 1 3/4 magmum squarebill among others on it.
  17. Only thing I have ever found that settles the dreaded restless legs. Puts me out like a light.
  18. Do yall throw wacky senkos on straight braid?
  19. I love the scrounger. Not many people throw them. We'll keep it our little secret!
  20. I was having this discussion with a bro this week. He told me he caught his first jig bass back in 1980 on a chartreuse jig with no trailer, a 5lbr! I seem to remember some guys on this site talking about throwing solid blue chatterbaits. That one intrigues me.
  21. Right now here in Middle Tennessee, there is not a single fish above 25'. The only bait I can consistently get bit on is a ned, and they flat chow it. It has consistently caught fish on days that I would have gotten skunked before I started fishing it. Summertime, the good ole wacky senko will always get bit.
  22. For those dabbling into swimbaits, Savage Gear's 3D Real Trout get bit on the cheap. Only, there is no dabble into swimbaits, only complete and utter disregard for one's credit card, bank balance, and common sense.
  23. Manufacturers' recipes are typically a closely guarded secret they are not likely to reveal, especially if they are changing it. Not sure if its the pork fat or colors, who knows what it is, but I agree with you that there is something very unique about Netbait worms. I swapped out all of my zooms after being smoked from the back of the boat repeatedly by my boy who fishes Netbait.
  24. I have some of these in willow and colorado and have never had much luck with them. They are yours free of charge if you want them.
