  1. Go with Teal's advice ^^^. Rods that throw top hook baits well do not throw treble hook baits well and vice-versa. You dont throw jigs on a crankbait rod.
  2. Thanks guys! Any thoughts on blades?
  3. I have to nut up and commit to the A-Rig this fall. Does everyone throw the ole Yum-brella Flash Mob Jr or is there a better flying chandelier? Any other pointers would be helpful. Thanks yall.
  4. I just hate to feel a rod groan when trying to huck a bait that is over the rod's range. I would go with the SWaver 168 on your cranking rod. Plenty of other options in that 2 oz range too. It would be a shame to saw that Loomis in half trying to lob that Arashi on it. Good luck man.
  5. I am a Bass Talk Live fan. They talk championships, bowling, and whatever else they want to talk about but you also get some great lessons from the pros who won the previous weekend. Usually 3 shows a week.
  6. One more for bone which I will fish all day in stained or muddy water. In clearer water I like a chrome or clear bait once the sun gets on the water.
  7. I keep every beat up senko I use in the spring, cut them in half and and reuse them as ned rig baits. Also have a bunch of old ribbon tail worms I dont throw any more. I cut the ribbon tails off and rig them backwards for neds. They fish just as well as anything eles for me. Got to love some good ole repurposing!
  8. Buy the Tatula. Okumas are overbuilt and heavy.
  9. Sponsorship for all readers with tacos in their avatar?
  10. Yup. Its actually quite easy to tie.
  11. Now I have to find a football jig with a vertical line tie. All of mine are horizontal!
  12. When you have a bait tied on all year you end up with a dogpile of dedicated rods like the one in my garage...ned rod, another ned rod, spook rod, jerkbait rods, senko rod, flippin rod, frog rod...ugh.
  13. This is how I fish it, usually with a 1/8 ewg head. Going to give a 1/16 a shot this weekend and try the swim technique. Thanks yall!
  14. So where do yall use this presentation? On flats or over suspended fish? Maybe swimming it across a point? I am thinking places I would usually catch fish on moving baits maybe? Ooh-or around docks?
  15. Yeah man- this is exactly what I was wondering about. Crazy, because I have been dragging a rock as you say, when I can also be swimming the bait. Those 1/16 oz heads I bought by accident are about to come out and its going to really get wild. Thank you 99!
  16. Today I was able to safely release a bass that was hooked deep thanks to the advice I got from the Bass Resource team. I cut the hook with a side cutter, turned it and pulled it out backwards. The fish swam off with minimal damage thanks to the knowledge I got here at BR. Thanks yall!
  17. So for me the ned is mostly a bottom contact bait with a fair number of bites coming on the initial fall. I fish 1/8oz in the creek- 10 feet of water or less, and 3/16 in 10 feet or deeper. Where are you super finesse dudes fishing the 1/16 or 3/32oz baits? Do you fish those finesse ned baits as bottom contact baits or more like a maribou jig just fished in the middle of the water column? Thanks for the help team.
  18. Order up! Thanks again for the intel on these-I was just about to buy some 3/4 jackhammers but now I will be putting some football jigs to good use!
  19. Do they just snap on? How is the durability? Thanks very much for the lead!
  20. Yes sir! The day a man quits learning is the day he is officially old. Naw. Keep it simple and rig it like BlueBasser says. Long tag end and clip the ds weight on. I power-target fish a dropshot. Its a bite getter especially on tough days.
  21. Naw man- you need to switch out your fishing hat. Hats are tied directly to fishing success. I had a giant- 10lbr+ spit a crankbait at the boat in December of 2016. Then, I got skunked for my next 6 trips. My lucky hat was broken. Got the right new hat and been on a good roll ever since. Hope that helps bro!
  22. And thank gawd Wheeler didnt win yet again. Not a hater, just like to see different winners.
  23. I took a beat down from the back of the boat last fall by a buddy throwing a 3/16 oz ned which I thought was way too heavy. I was throwing a 1/8 and could not buy a bite. Picked up some 3/16 Lifted Jigs EWG heads and had multiple 20 fish days through the winter fishing in 25-35'. When the fish are deep I think that larger head gets the bait down to them. Hope that helps man.
  24. So NV--Did you catch any today? The senko has caught me a ton of fish the past few years. Good ol green pumpkin rigged with an o-ring and a VMC weedless neko hook. Keep your bait in the shade this time of year. Good luck man!
  25. I agree with the comments regarding castability of 10 vs 15. To me, 10 lb fishes very limp, almost to the point of being too light, so I prefer 15. Power Pro being the poorboy's gold standard.
