  1. Glad you are still with us Jonas. Bunch of stuff to replace but its replaceable. Took my vest off this weekend for a few minutes too but eventually put it back on. Good lesson and thanks for being so candid. Condescending much AJ?
  2. I bet those dudes will eat!
  3. 6'6". And dont bring any rods in your kayak you cant afford to lose. My boy lost his #1 ned rig, dropshot, and topwater rods yesterday when he flipped his yak in a rapid.
  4. Who in the wide wide world a sports goes to bassresource for taco tossed salad recipes?!?!!!! Gawddang boy! Haddent you ever herd of that dang food network?
  5. Just from my experience, it seems like the fish is more likely to head shot a bait with a red front treble-maybe it gives the fish a spot on the bait to aim for.
  6. Not sure what the stock hooks are but I run Mustad #2 short shanks. Red on front if you want to get wild.
  7. That bait does not look like much but it catches fish. The top hook version and the line thru.
  8. I have a tracker 185 with a 65lb 24 volt and its plenty of motor, even in a little current. An 80 would probably plane it off, can not imagine a 101. As NoShoes says, where is the 3rd battery going? Definitely not room in my rig for 4 batteries. Good luck bro!
  9. Heck yeah! I am fishing Lewis Smith Lake in north Alabama Sunday and can not wait! Shakey heads, neds, topwaters and jerkbaits for us. You hook up on a 3 lb Alabama spotted bass, you better not have anything to do for the next ten minutes because that fish is going to pull you around for a while! You fishing Lanier?
  10. Mr. Hook2Jaw is correct again. The Tatula 150 is a beast. You could even go with a 200 which is capable of throwing everything up to mid sized glide baits. Either size, both are excellent reels.
  11. Good looking jig sir. Like that hook.
  12. The ned is like that most times. Frequently fish eat it on the initial fall. Just feels mushy, different. And like RichieG says, use your reel and a sweep to set the hook. Whatever line you use, you MUST be able to SEE IT as your bait swims off in a fish's mouth. Good luck man!
  13. Another for Invizx. Durable, low stretch, reasonably priced.
  14. Nowdays, good cell signal is a must for live cams and basstrak
  15. Guys who fish clear water, "finesse!" Guys who fish stained/muddy water, "jigs!"
  16. Heck yeah! I fish senkos all spring, then neds all summer with those half torn senkos!
  17. Last fall I saw a big fish come out of the water after a shad in 43 degree water. Luckily my spook rod was still in the boat because I threw to that fish and caught it. Sure never saw that one coming. Especially around grass, bass will hang in there until the last thread turns brown and dies off. Make them tell you they wont eat that topwater!
  18. There are few things more rewarding in this sport as putting another arrow in your quiver of knowledge. My best tip for drop shotting is to fish it fast! I get many more strikes on the drop than soaking it. Good job today man!
  19. In some of the clearer lakes I fish, the bass have a bit of a blue tint on their cheeks. All of them do, smallies and largemouth, so I figured the baitfish must also. After experimenting with a few other baits with the same tint, the KVD Magic is now the go to swimbait. Magic indeed!
  20. For those who throw lighter heads, do yall swim the bait rather than work it on the bottom?
  21. At that depth, 3/16 has been my best bite getter.
  22. I was told as a kid to buy up every yellow Heddon Sonic I could find. The Sonic was too light for me to throw. Then I found the Super Sonic, and it was on. I still throw that little dude. Its a summer and fall killer.
  23. Best thing about fall is all of the hunters go to the woods and leave the lakes right at prime time!
  24. Looking forward to your review.
