  1. Budget, application, experience? OP question is extremely vague. One things for sure, I can list a half dozen reels to be bought before spending $270 on a curado dc
  2. I completely agree, as someone who enjoys my original muse blacks I must admit that the way I acquired them wasn’t normal. I had lots of cheaper 13 rods that had defects and ended up trading them in for less replacements but at a higher price point (muse blacks). I even enjoyed my muse blacks more than my envy’s . With that said, I enjoy my muse black but at its price point can’t see myself replacing it with another one. As stated, the zodias, expride, Levante and even tatula elite are right there. I’d venture to say even the daiwa rebellion may get the nod over the muse. It’s not that there not good rods, they just are surrounded by other proven tech at that price point
  3. This is the answer, close the forum. Go home folks. I’m not kidding.
  4. To be fair, they didn’t have a right selling them at the old price
  5. Well it’s January first and I’m going to say there’s a lot to “unpack here”. reading through this I can’t help but think, why do I care if tournament bass fishing has a major audience? In fact, I believe we’ve all heard that bass fisheries and the tools themselves haven’t been able to support the explosion of the industry. Even if tournament bass fishing were to turn into the next big thing and even scratch the surface at the audience of major sports the fisheries and its resources would likely be decimated. I haven’t thought too much about this. as for the anglers, I do agree most people don’t follow names but also agree that is only going to get worse with FFS. There used to be something for a guy who fished for 30 years was regularly at the top because he learned everything. No. I’m, not saying they jump in the boat but what I am saying is that a kid (18 and above) with resources and two years of fishing constantly can become a major competitor in tournament fishing just by mastering FFS & off shore bass fishing. You couldn’t do that before, you’d be laughed out of the tournaments that even qualify you for the tournaments that. qualify you for the next ones. That’s my FFS rant. but anyways, you’re right, tournament fishing isn’t all that popular and I’m not sure I really want it to be. I’m not sure I want the costs to come significantly down to where every household is fishing simply for the fact that we don’t have enough natural resources to support it.
  6. Do we know what the 7’6 h weighs?
  7. @punchfishing posted about it. I believe they are discontinued but @ajayponitef out Plano had other options. I think I’m going plastic tub with the $1 harmony bags this year. The speed bags were okay but they end up being a maze. I’m going to pair down to less options with more packs in the harmony bags. For example. Ten packs of pit bosses in one harmony bag, ten packs of senkos, ten packs of muscle back craws or whatever I go with.
  8. Now to find a jt what Chinese company makes the cubes. I don’t mean to be negative and love the quality but it seems all of this stuff is just rebranded. For example my new fancy Spro terminal tackle box that I found on Amazon for $16 instead of $25 with the Spro label.
  9. I was going to buy a second 7’3XH to use a pitching/flipping rod as I always have a frog tied on the other. Then, I saw this video about some of the other models. I’m generally considering 1/2 to 1.25 oz of tungsten with the 1.25 having very limited use. I also like the possibility of verticality of being able to throw a six inch magdraft on them. Does anybody have experience with these models and or throwing the harnessed mag draft on the 7’3xh?
  10. Correct. Which is also what Milikin is saying. They aren’t putting it back in, we all just pay more and the sport doesn’t grow. It doesn’t grow because they keep the profits .ill do you one better. If athletes didn’t get paid more the sport wouldn’t grow right? Most athletes are unique in how it takes decades to hone their craft. For that, they demand compensation. Enter forward facing sonar, sure, ffs requires skill, let’s not get our panties in a bunch but it certainly doesn’t require the skill that say it took a rick clun or other anglers the number of years it took to hone their craft. These anglers could break down water, any water but it took decades of knowledge & experince. No, with FFS we’ve significantly decreased the knowledge gap. To a degree they won’t have to worry about having to compensate the next lebronn james of bass fishing because there’s a million other guys that can watch and fish FFS almost as good as him…
  11. Correct. Which is also what Milikin is saying. They aren’t putting it back in, we all just pay more and the sport doesn’t grow. It doesn’t grow because they keep the profits .
  12. Sounds like they are discontinued. What other options do you use to store your soft plastics? Surely there’s a fair bit of non fishing branded options out there. maybe simple plastic storage from Lowe’s is the way to go
  13. That line through seems to not be the easiest to fish.
  14. You’re right. It’s not about a single persons attitude, and somebody coming by with a big check buying six sense won’t help the consumer. Apparently that disappointing milkin will be the answer though.. more importantly, PE is buying more at a faster rate and it’s not good for the consumer. We should be able to buy small.
  15. Why are we mad at Milikin and not the giant corporations that buy out our small companies destroying the innovation, diversity & cost effectiveness to the customer?
  16. Thank you It doesn’t make it acceptable nor do we have to accept just because it was this way before Milikin. I for one spend a boat load of money and wasn’t that aware of all of this. Something I can do is switch from my beloved rage craws to a smaller business that makes a flappy trailer. There are dozens of them. Once again, I’m not a milkin fan boy but also found nothing arrogant about calling out private equity firms. Maybe you haven’t seen what they have done to other industries…because “it’s always been this way” doesn’t mean it’s not getting substantially worse much more quickly. instead of Plano buy buzbee Instead of rage craws buy xzone or missile baits (oh no, not the rage baits! ;)) Instead of Yamamoto senkos buy gambler fat ace Instead of strike king weights buy spro, gamma or other local brands this least likely needs tweaked but you’d think it could even be a sticky.
  17. Wondering what your guys thoughts are. I’m not a huge milikin fan but this seemed far from click bait and quite good content as it relates to us anglerr and our money.
  18. You tapped or glue on boss? Man I’m bored. You run a dual blade setup? Let me tell you. I ran a dual blade for the first time this past summer up in the weedy north country and it was life changing, for fishing that is. It was equally as big of a jump to 2 blades as it was from none to 1. Now I need to see if I can fit three!! man I’m bored.
  19. Do you think their performance changes after heavy use? It’s obvious that it’s winter and I’m bored.
  20. They are in fact a blade, does anybody sharpen theirs after a lot of use?
