  1. Have you fished all of these reels? I find it interesting that the bb1 is tenth on your list when others have indicated it being such a long distance caster. Maybe that was due to the weight of lure you were throwing? I’m still slightly up in the air as I’m not sure I’m overally enthused about throwing a lews that’s bigger than average size
  2. Do we really think the diameter makes a difference for casting different? Futhermore? Do you believe the manufactures numbers ? for example all 50lb power pro maxcuarto = 0.32mm YGK Xbraid =0.285, anybody actually used this braid for heavy cover? Suffic 131 (13 strand) 0.34 Cortlans silent flip, would this be long casting? (16 strand) Fins infinity braid (8 strand) 0.17! <—highly doubtful it’s true
  3. Looks like a cool reel, you really think it keeps up with the new ones?
  4. It’s interesting that you find the metanium 100 to be the longest caster, they must act differently than the 150. I strongly disliked that the 150. How much further do you think the met 100 casts than the zillion g on the same setup?
  5. I'm throwing mostly the 5/8 snag proof bobbys perfect frog and also throwing the scum frog launch frog 5/8, is there another one i should be throwing?
  6. I get it, this is a bit of an annoying question, but I have a specific setup that I use when attempting to reach the absolute furthest areas that I simply cannot drag my boat through when frogging. I'm the guy who will drag the Ranger up until the Garmin Force simply won't pull it any further, but even then, there are pockets with a canopy and enough water to hold fish. For this situation, I've begun using a new rod that I absolutely love: the 7'7" H Expride. I've found that with the 7'7" H and a new Zillion G combined with 50 lb Maxcuatro braid, I can reach much further than with my 7'3" XH Expride. The soft tip of the 7'7" H allows me to sling the frog further. I've carefully adjusted the brakes until the reel can no longer manage, and the distance is maximized, yet I still have plenty of braid on the reel. My question is, for this very specific situation, is there a reel that you think will cast further than the Zillion with the SV Boost spool? Let me know your thoughts
  7. Thank you for sending this. I have a ridiculous amount worth of gear sitting on my deck and find myself being lazy moving from spot to spot on my all sports lake. One wrong race from a wake boat could send them all over. I’ll will change my habits
  8. The red nut is a replacement but. I do see some damage to the thread at the 5th thread in on the one side. Do you think this is enough to need to replace the main shaft ? Would using a new stainless open ended m8xmm nut clean up the threads enough ? It was suggested to potentially try a stainless or titanium nut? Either way. I’d like to get it resolved without putting too much into it if possible. At the same time. My flip pitch handle will be here tomorrow and my plan for this reel was putting as much torque on it frogging to find its limits. I certainly need to have the confidence that the reel handle will hold up. It’s worth noting that the original plastic nut retainer wouldn’t fit properly with this replacement nut. That’s why I ordered two more zillion nuts from the tackle trap. I also had some inkling that the red retainer was so thin that almost sat under the nut allowing the nut to spin under torque. I appreciate all of your opinions.
  9. Anybody frogging on the 7’7h ? I recently found out it throws the spro cuss shad decent enough
  10. I used the plastic retainer with the old orginsl nut. This replacement came with a metal retainer in which I used. First hookset the handle came loose.
  11. I have a number of reels on which I swap out the handles for the 100mm Daiwa paddle handle. All of them work without issue except for this one JDM Zillion in particular. I’m aware that the bits can strip easily if over-tightened and simply assumed that’s what I did. However, after using several new nuts carefully tightened down, as soon as I set the hook, the nut gets loose and the handle almost falls off. Is it possible I’m missing a piece after disassembling? Is it possible the main handle shaft thread is stripped? I’m considering sending this to someone, including DVT, but this shouldn’t be this complicated. What are your thoughts?
  12. It’s great but man is it stiff
  13. Thanks ! It worth noting I used a single reel soool worth of 50lb maxcuatro 50lb braid for four years on a expride 73xh frogging in the heaviest cover. The 50 never let me down. I used to be a 65lb guy but I really enjoy the casyability of that 50z maxcuarto is great stuff
  14. What rod ? And why does the extra length help?
  15. Bobby B swears his 7’9 I rod is way better due to its length. Thoughts on its length of something like the 7’3xh expride ?
  16. Anybody use the 7’9 h Bobby’s perfect rod ?
  17. Is it’s casting reliability different than a sv type reel?
  18. Looks like Sony just launched their 5th version of the neck worn personal ac. The Reon 5. Has anybody used these? I’m wondering if they would work under a shirt such as the aftco barracuda or simms solar flex guide https://www.ndtv.com/feature/sony-launches-futuristic-wearable-air-conditioner-gadget-to-beat-the-heat-5554195
  19. What reel is the daiwa with the yellow line? It looks like a steez ct without badging ?
  20. Sounds like no catching fish for me then.
  21. Does it pick up right before they spawn or was the period before this period where they don’t even look at a bait?
  22. I fish a small little lake with good size largemouth in mid west Michigan. (GR area) each spring these bass all come dirt dirt shallow, I’m talking dragging my glass ranger in the grass/much shallow. There are literally thousands of bass and thousands of baitfish, I believe perch right now, bluegill a little later. I’ve thrown the kitchen sink at them over the past few weeks and outside of a few random strikes on a glide bait they won’t even looks at my lures. I threw everything, even a floating worm. I threw a popper, whacky rig, swim jig, jig, Texas rig. Water has been around 54 degrees for several weeks but the weather has been iffy. It’s been warmer lately and today the water was up to 58. This has happened to me each year on this lake and I just haven’t been successful until post spawn or later. To be fair, outside of them really chewing a jackhammer one spring I haven’t ever really gotten them to bite this time of year. I might just not know what I’m doing. all these stuff and the only bite I had was them smashing a glide twice but spitting it. what am I doing wrong ?
  23. I regularly fish a Texas rig with a tungeston bead prior to the weight with just enough slop that I think they will click together. I’ve just never seen an unpegged combo as you have
