New 2025 JDM Daiwa Steez LTD CT SV
Agreed, at least with my experience I am shocked a main shaft would bend under 12-14 lb fluorocarbon prior to the like breaking. I could see doing what I do with 50lb braid but at the same time, in my experience the steez ct has just a little bit less drag than most and typically the drag would slip before something bent. That’s odd. Current steez ct sv is the best frame in my opinion. Id absolutely love just a tiny bit more line capacity. This reel has become my go to for all skipping, flipping & pitching and any target casting. I only swap to something bigger for forging, punching, bug swimbaits, or long distancing casting.

New 2025 JDM Daiwa Steez LTD CT SV
This was on a steez ct sv? If so, was the drag completely locked ? Straight braid, locked drag and a giant hookset under a mat of grass? Just trying to make sense of it.

Getting my first dedicated frogging setup but I am torn on which reel to use
Question, has anybody actually here broken a reel frog fishing? We all put labels on what’s good and what’s not for heavy cover but haven’t seen it any failures of lighter more compact reels. Sure. I like the bantam but my jdm zillion that’s almost two ounces lighter drags them in left and right without complaining….

New 2025 JDM Daiwa Steez LTD CT SV
I flip and pitch on my steez ct a 1 ounce weight with 50lb silent braid on an expride 73xh. It’s absolutely awesome. I always wonder why people say this reel can’t throw bigger stuff. What is the reason that’s been found through doing so?

NRX + 793C
Does anyone have this and if so what are our thoughts? I have a conquest 783c that I believe is a goat skipping rod, great for jerkbaits but also gets other duty in light Texas rigs, jigs and whacky senkos. I need to replace another skipping rod and considered the NRX + version and was wondering if anyone had these to compare to.

Do you carry multiple rods for the same tehcnique?
Yes. Several Tex rigs, several worms, several frogs If they aren’t bitting that I’m usually going home.

Daiwa Steez AGS 7'5 MHH Bottom Contact Vs NRX 894
I have the bottom contact 2, the power pitch from that line. While the bottom contact 2 is awesome I just feel way more fluid with the power pitch. Idk if the reel seat is slightly different on the bottom contact or if it’s just the rod length but if flipping and pitching or even a little longer casting I prefer the power pitch. Very similar to the NRX 873CRR

shortest, high-end, flipping pitching rod
I have a p5 tachyon shaft and it’s a blast. For quite a bit longer there’s also the steez power pitch. You can’t really give recommendations on a rod without knowing what is being pitched to including its weight and cover

Question For those With P5 Super Destroyer
Never had any issue. Two buddies have one and do well with it

Does rod weight matter to you??
It’s a huge factor for me

What type of grass is this?
Ontario, clear water lake that has a good amount of milfoil but this grass is around. It’s typically to the top of the water in as high as ten feet or more. It’s sparse, bass do not seem to relate to it like the molfoil

What weight sinker do you most commonly use to Texas Rig?

What weight sinker do you most commonly use to Texas Rig?
I feel like this is mostly a worm question. For worms, the previous answers are accurate,m. When is comes to pitching a creature in the milfoil I’m using 3/8-1oz and punching with obviously more. Anything under 1/2 oz doesn’t really penetrate thick milfoil well.

Suffix 131 for frogging
Does 131 sink and if so does that make it a bad line for frogging ?

Preparing your body for a 6 day (ten hour days) tournament
Thank you! Some thinks have changed and this trip coming up has turned into 16 nights. Half of which will be with my son. Being this long of a trip I am extremely lucky. It’s making me rethink many things including just having to play it by ear and do some rest. This is especially true what the first ten days will be fun fishing followed by 6 days of 10 hour a day tournament fishing

So yes. Take it…

T minus 9 days. Serious question. creatine, I typically take 5g of creatine daily. I’m 37, I lift occasionally but I typically find that I have more energy and have better mental clarity when taking creatine. What do we know about creatine? Well, for starters, you need to have more water drank daily. If you drink alcohol, you’ll probably be even more dehydrated. With that said, if you drink lots of water and don’t drink alcohol it will probably be better to take it. What do you think? It probably helps reel in a big frog fish 😉

Big bite craw tubes
Do you find this makes a difference ?

Big bite craw tubes
Who uses them ? What are your thoughts? Do you flip them ? I’ve heard of inserting a used senko into the bottom and cutting it off to make a fat ikea like bait that has extra action. I’ve grabbed a bunch during the buy 2 get 1 at Omnia and plan on flipping them extensively in the Canadian milfoil. any other modifications ?
