Find where water is running into the lake whether it be streams, runoffs or drainage pipes. I’d have something fast and slow to throw

Water temp here yesterday was around 79-81 degrees. Followed a gigantic Shad school for hours and didn’t catch a single scoreable bass. But that’s just how it works sometimes. Perfect conditions and good water current.

I’ve caught many bass on tubes here in Mississippi. But most of the year I would rather fish creature baits or something with a little more action. I still turn to tubes in winter. The shape and less action seem to work well in colder water for me. The rise and fall of the tube fad is mesmerizing though. Back in the early 2000s everyone had several bags in their box

When the going gets tough I know I can catch a few on a jig. But like @Catt I fish shallow grassy lakes with a lot of covers. I know where the fish are. Just have to convince one to bite and a jig works best for me in that situation Going back to the OP....I was lucky enough to grow up on a small lake with good fishing. Started throwing small jigs one summer when I was home from school. I became addicted with the “art” of the jig and detecting bites. And was rewarded with nice fish. 15 years later it’s still my favorite lure to fish and I suspect it will continue to be

I’m not brand loyal at all. But ford won me over with the 2.7 which I bought right when it came out. Overall I’m satisfied. Took me a while to come from a well built car with tight tolerances to the first year aluminum body where panels didn’t line up perfectly and tolerances were just loose overall

I had a 2009 328 sport for 3 years. Sold it at 95k miles. Had the engine light come on once due to a sensor. Cost $500 Loved that car but one of the radiator hoses had to be replaced and the service manager called me after hours on his personal phone and told me the entire cooling system was going to have to be replaced within a year and it would cost at least $3k. Plus the tires were needing replacement and they cost almost $2k. He was like I’m not telling you what to do but.... I thanked him and traded it in for my f150 the next month. Not a day goes by where I don’t miss that car. But man I do not miss the maintenance.

It’s a shame we can’t have both formats. Both are compelling and fun to watch. I think most of the fans who’ve been around the sport for years will always gravitate to the 5 fish limit though. I know bass and flw aren’t going anywhere but the first few years will be rough It’d be nice if they used different formats within a tournament. Best 5 one day, all scorable the next. Restrict different areas each day. Something to keep it interesting and award the best well rounded anglers that week.

FBI went back to 9 mm. Truth be told the “stopping power” between any of the 3 rounds is only contingent on shot placement. That is the most important factor followed by capacity. Theoretically a person should be more accurate on follow up shots with a 9 mm. And capacity for 9 mm is typically a few more per mag. Bottom line: carry whatever is most comfortable and performs the best for you

I’m not a finesse jig fisherman by any stretch. But I know people rave about the Dirty Jigs finesse jig. The little Strike Kings are pond killers. That’s what I learned on as a kid 15 years ago. But like @Catt I wouldn’t consider it finesse.

Not having to deal with a livewell, culling, and the constant fear of a fish dying would be enough for me to move to MLF. But seriously its all about tv. With Bass Pro’s connections and marketing they will will have a lot more opportunities to land long term contracts and sponsorships. Bass Pro’s name brings stability.

Get a few football heads and flipping/brush heads. Black/blue, green, and one with orange. 3/8 and 1/2 oz. That would be a good start. I don’t tinker with jig colors much. But I keep a wide array of trailers on hand in both action and colors. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. Go with wire wrapped skirts. And trim the weed guards to where they just cover the barb when pushed over hook. If it’s too long you’ll miss fish
