Curado DC
I've been considering the Curado DC. My biggest concern like most people is will the little breaking computer still be working in five years. Then I thought, if it works well for a few years and dies, I can just replace it. Well, I just checked the Shimano parts web page. For the $249 Curado DC, the "B SIDE PLATE SUBSTRATE" which I think is the part that houses the little computer, cost $204.69. Seems a little extreme to me.

Most common reason for not catching bass?
Clearly all of reasons mentioned contribute to not catching fish. The OP ask what is the most common reason for someone with reasonably good ability not catching fish. I think the most common reason is not fishing in the right location. Looking at my logs, my success rate is much higher in areas I know very well. I don't think it's because I know what lures to use in these locations. It's because I know lots of spots at different depths that have produced in the past. I would add that the difference between a good location and a bad one might just be a few feet. I will disagree with one reason listed. Some days are clearly better than others but "fish just not biting good that day" is rarely the reason we don't catch fish. Look at the results of any tournament, someone always has a good day and someone always has a bad day. You can't blame the day. ?

Legend bass boats no more?
@TnRiver46 I think you are on to something big. Get rid of the outboard and have four power poles. You would never need a ramp. You could wade around in the shallow water and dog paddle in the deep water. I LIKE IT!

Legend bass boats no more?
Great companies are usually started by people who are focused on building a better product. Hopefully they know how to run a business and make money but these companies are build on the reputation of their products. When these companies are sold, they are usually bought by people that know how to make money but rely more on cost cutting and marketing. Forest Wood is great example of a product focus founder. Is there any question that his top priority was on building high quality innovative boats? Johnny Morris is a great example of the latter. No question the guy knows how to make money but do you trust him to come up with the next great innovation in bass boats or anything else for that matter.

No Fishing
I don't see the appeal of building an Ark. There's no place to mount a trolling motor?

Cheating vs not-ethical or neither
Keeping everyone on the same time used to be a challenge. Not today. I don't know if cell phones get their time off the tower or from their internal GPS but I've never seen one where the time was not dead on. Most boats now have GPS which is provides extremely accurate time. No excuse for everyone not knowing what time it is to the second.

Silly MLF rule
There have been several studies that show that in most cases they do not work. Sixty Minutes did a story on lie detector test many years ago that was very interesting. They paid people that worked at a CBS owned photography magazine to take polygraph test from several polygraph companies. Each company was told that a different person was suspected of stealing a camera. The "suspect" was not told that they were the suspect. In every case the results showed that suspect was lying.

What do you want to master?
I want to gain confidence in fishing deeper. I rarely fish over 25ft but I know there are fish down there. I can see them on the fish finder taunting me.

getting along with neighbors
That's a rough neighborhood. The smallmouth in Pickwick are the meanest fish I have ever been around. ?

Boat batteries
I agree with everything @Scott F said. If you have a 12 volt trolling motor you can run off two deep cycle batteries wired in parallel. I did it for years. I would recommend that you buy two new identical batteries before you do this. Running two batteries of different ages or strength in parallel can cause problems. I used to run my electronics off of my two parallel trolling motor batteries without any problems but many people do have interference problems when running the trolling motor.

Reels
My most expensive reel is a Diawa Zillion $299. My least expensive is a $55 Kastking. I have several other Diawas and Shimanos in between and some very old Abu Garcias. I can catch fish equally well with all of them. Some are designed to fill certain needs better than others. The Kastking actually cast further than the Zillion. I appreciate the craftsmanship of a good reel and will continue buying and using them. But anyone that thinks an expensive reel is necessary to catch more fish is fooling themselves. An expensive reel should last longer but you can get all the performance you need for $50-$100.

Thank You New York!
If you’re moving to Nashville to work at Amazon you’ll need a place to live. Here’s a 1 bedroom 798 square foot condo for only $530,000. It’s close enough to the new Amazon building that you can walk to work which is important because traffic in the area makes it impossible to drive there. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1212-Laurel-St-Apt-509_Nashville_TN_37203_M84291-03775
