Got first boat...what do I need?
Ha Ha. Well the transducer for my Humminbird was built in to my trolling motor so there........but it will also work with other brand fish finders so never mind. ☹️

Yes you can used two. You will want to get a different one to mount to your trolling motor. Lowrance might allow you to swap for free. I know Humminbird does.

Pre-rigging plastics?
I agree and will add one more reason. 3. Tying on a swivel allows you to switch baits easily without retying. Retying often is a good thing. I’ve lost more fish than I care to think about because I was too lazy to retie. I do pre rig Carolina rigs. C-rigs take three knots, pre rigging cuts that down to one.

Autochart Pro Benefits(?)
The product description states that it offers two benefits over Autochart, bottom hardness and side imaging mosaic. My Solix units have these features built in. If yours does also then I don’t think it gives you anything you don’t already have. I do not own Autochart Pro so I could be missing something.

Sinkholes have excellent taste in cars. That's why I don't drive nice ones.

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
Yeah...Sometimes you have to buy the bait JUST IN CASE they're telling the truth.

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
I can't say it bugs me that much. It is a fact of life. Pros are loyal to their sponsors and they should be. I guess it also makes them liars in some cases which is not admirable. I question everyone's motives when they give me advice. I think most of what we hear from pros and the fishing press in general is 90% BS. I trust the opinions on this forum with the discussion and give and take far more as a source of information than say Bassmaster Magazine.

New NCAA Football Suggested Rules Changes
It’s just a matter of time before they’re playing touch football and every player gets to have his mother on the sidelines to comfort him if he gets a boo boo.

Take the Humminbird SOLIX series. There is a 10in, 12in, and 15in model. All three models have the same 1280 x 800 resolution so you see exactly the same thing on all three units, the pixels are just bigger on the bigger units. I have the 10 inch version on my console and I'm usually 25 inches from it when I'm using it. It's easy to see everything on the screen at that distance. The pixels are much bigger than your typical cell phone. My iPhone is 1792 x 828 on a 6.1 inch screen. If you have poor vision that's a different story.

Everyone says get the biggest screen possible but I don't think it's that simple. High screen resolution gives you more detail. Large screen size makes it easier to view from a distance. At the console you are setting close to the screen so go with the highest screen resolution which may or may not be the one with the largest screen.

I’ll add to what 12lb said. If there are HD Lakemaster maps available for the lakes you fish, that’s a big plus for going with Humminbird.

Now I don't live in Knoxville and have never heard of these roads but as a Tennessee native they make perfect sense to me. Leadmine Bend - there's bend in the river called Leadmine bend and the road goes there. Little Tater Valley - will take you to Little Tater Valley duh. Old Tazewell Pike - road takes you to where old man Tazewell's farm used to be. West State of Franklin - You would need to know your history on this one. Before there was a State of Tennessee there was a State of Franklin. As for 25E & 25W, we do that in Nashville to. Hwy 70 runs east to west across the US. In Nashville we split it in two as it goes through town and call the southern split 70S and just call the northern split 70. Perfectly logical naming system to us natives. If you name a road Elm street what does that mean? Every street has an Elm tree.

Is a fishing line better than another?
If you look at the specs on the web sites for Tuf-Line and Power Pro, it's a little confusing. Power Pro uses the Spectra logo, Tuf-Line does not. Their specs do not match up but they may be selling the same line with different strength ratings. I have no idea if they are identical or made to different specification. Obviously, they aren't going to market it is as "The Spectra line you love, in a prettier box"

When to properly use monofilament
Some people use it for everything. Some use it in specific situations. Some don't use it at all. It's cheap, I would encourage you to try it with everything and see how you like it.

CrankBait Rod Action
Rick Clunn has said that fishing a crankbait on a graphite rod almost cost him a classic win because the sensitivity caused him to loose fish. Anyone agree with him that sensitivity is bad when fishing crankbaits?

What would you change?
It was great watching tournaments in the 80s because you didn't know who was going to win even though the tournament happened months ago. Today, someone on this site always spills the beans before it comes on TV.

Anglers have found off shore structures over the years using the technology available at the time. I started out using a paper map, a compass and a flasher. Now I use a Humminbird Solix. Some people are more comfortable with modern fish finders than others. Some are better with paper maps and compasses than others. Forcing anglers to fish with 1950s technology or any other period would favor those with the most experience and comfort with the technology being used. What does that really prove? When you find the spot by whatever means, YOU STILL GOTTA CATCH THE FISH.

Successful weekend coyote calling
I used to know a guy that put a caged chicken in a field to attract them and he had a night scope and silencer on his rifle. I don’t think it was legal but he got rid of a lot of coyotes.

Is a fishing line better than another?
I had a professor in college that worked for the division of DuPont that developed Nylon. He was a researcher and explained to us that his job was to develop materials with certain properties not materials that might be used in a specific product. Other engineers would decide if the material had the right properties for a specific product like fishing line. I would love to know the history behind the many fishing lines on the market. I think it's safe to say that no one in the fishing industry is doing materials research. Very few if any fishing line companies are doing their own engineering that turns new materials into new fishing lines. Most are probably just buying their lines from big companies like Honeywell that develop and sell wholesale line like Spectra HT Fiber fishing line https://www.spectrafishing.com I wonder how many of the different brands of line we buy are selling the same line coming out of the same factory with different packaging?

Wow that’s interesting. A coyote tournament. I’ve got some farm land that’s got a zillion of them. What time of day do you hunt them?

Is there evidence that one is better than the other? No...but that doesn’t stop us from debating which one is best on this forum. ?
