Spinnerbaits
Thanks for all the info guys. I’m gonna do a little homework on blade types just so I know what I’m looking at and pick a few up. Looking forward to trying to use them more this season. It’s amazing to me how well they come through pretty much every thing. They even come back out of the trees real nice lol.

My Daughter's First Trophy
Email it to yourself in the med size then save to photos and you’ll be all set. Sounds like a pain but only takes a second.

Spinnerbaits
I’m really starting to enjoy using them. I have a few of the cheaper strike king ones that hang on the rack at dicks. I’ve had my most consistent luck with the blue gill one and I grabbed the midnight special this weekend and it really produced the few hours I’ve tried it. The more I use them the better and more productive I’m getting with them. I’ve gone through allot of pages on the search function here but it’s allot of info. Can you guys recommend a brand /type for me to grab a couple of for slow rolling a sandy rocky bottom in the cooler water right now. Blue gill and shad seem to be the main forage. Blade types are still a little overwhelming right now. A few recommendations of some I could buy and use would be great. Thanks in advance. When I look at them in the spinnerbait isle in the store it’s just to mind blowing if you don’t really know what your looking for.

Children fishing essentials
Yup, when there done it’s over. Or they won’t want to go anymore. It’s great if the pond/lake has some hiking trails or a play ground so there are other things to do to make a long morning of it. I also bring a small backpack with a few toys, he will play with stuff in The dirt for a little while rather content and give me a little time to make a few casts. I’m sure we don’t have to tell you drinks, snacks and bandaids.

Great weekend
Tried a new spot, first time all season that somewhere gave up some quality fish with any kind of consistency. Deep water nice sandy bottom with big rocks scattered about. What what I’ve heard it holds big ones. These were some of the better ones. You have to do a bit of hiking and the access is tight, I’ll be cutting the braid of one of my rigs lol it was worth it. Spinnerbait and t-rigged rage craw was the ticket.

Close bail manually?
I close it by hand cause someone told me long ago it helps with line twist. I honestly don’t know if it’s true or not, but I’ve been doing it ever since.

It happened
It was a pretty good feeling. I have plans to pick up a few specialty tools and a air brush over the summer so I can get into it next winter.

Feel good video of the day
That’s awesome, that’s what got me started again. I love the part where the little girl says “ that’s how a man holds it” I cracked up.

Swivels...preference? Solving Line Twist
I just switched to braid because of Line twist. It’s the biggest pia so annoying. It’s even more annoying that I can’t seem to put the bait on straight.

It happened
Caught one on the crank I made. I wish it had a few more pounds on it but I’ll take it. Not gonna lie I’m kind off having a proud papa moment right now.

What do you bank fishing guys do to help with ticks.
Thanks for all the info guys. I’ve never really had a problem until this year. Makes me not even want to walk down the trail at this one place, there’s been so many the last two outings.

They seem to be real bad this year. Every trip I find a couple on my clothes. Had one dug in my leg and a few crawling on me. I think my dog has got a few from my clothes as well. Three tonight alone. I have no use for those nasty things.

First bed fish spotted.
I’m in mass, the water temp with a casted out pool thermometer was 58. It was a fanned off spot down to sand and he has been sitting on it for two days now I’m guessing he’s making a bed. It was the only one I’ve seen, he wasn’t biting anything either. The water was warmer then I thought. I only let the thermometer sit for about ten mins that might not have been long enough. There for three hours today caught one dink. I’m hoping to catch the feed up for the spawn.

First bed fish spotted.
I was kind of surprised to see it. I didn’t think the water had warmed up that much yet and it been cold and rainy for the past two weeks. The place hadn’t really turned on yet either. It was just one I’m hoping he is just really early. I’ve caught several fish there, but only cause I go allot it’s pretty random a few on this one day, a few on something else another. The water is also a little dirtier than usual with all the rain. I guess the next few days will tell.
