Same as it is now. Every chance I get, sometimes before work sometimes after and occasional Saturday mornings. Usually at night though big worms, topwater if I can, cranks and spinnerbaits usually round it off. Hoping to have some Saturdays panfishing with the grandson.

Thanks for all the info guys. Those aren’t really the responses I was hoping for. Can any one recommend another medium fast spinning rod in roughly the same price range. Again this is for a friend just getting started.

Does anyone have any of the spinning rods. A friend of mine wants to try fishing out. I let him use my old spinning set up this weekend but the rod is really soft and not that great. He doesn’t really know how involved he’s gonna end up. I’m trying to find him a half decent set up to get started. A medium fast colt and president spinning reel is $140 for the pair. All the reviews I’ve read say it’s a great bang for the buck. I’m looking for good enough in case he goes full weekend warrior. I feel this may be a good starting point and let him by some tackle without getting in to deep in case he doesn’t really get into it. Thanks for any help.

Go to a bps and check out the carbonlite 2.0, great rod for $120.

Low and slow seems to produce more for me. Just play around with your retrieve until you get a couple bites then stick with that.

That’s a thing of beauty right there. I really want to try out one of the new levante rods. Unfortunately I’m afraid most of them are a little to long for most of the banks I fish.

The bps carbonlite 2.0 comes in a two piece medium. They come in at $120. I really like them thinking about getting a third one.

Rained hard all day. Let up just In time for my ride home. So I stopped for a half hour and caught this one and two big pickerel. Skinny belly just spawned out I think.

The other thing to think about is you know that kid told his dad about you. Because he was glad to see you and he’s excited to go and meet you there again, helping him catch more fish is a big deal to him I would think. If he didn’t tell him the first time I’m sure he did the second time. Now it’s up to his dad to do the right thing and go with the kid to meet you or go with the kid so he can’t meet you. If dad doesn’t have a good reason for not being there I wouldn’t think much of him. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the kid is not allowed to meet you there. It’s kind of a tough situation that really shouldn’t be. Who knows you could end up becoming a great freind/role model for this young man that really shouldn’t be there alone anyway.

All set up for some panfishing. Decided to get two so me and my grandson would have the same setup, I think it will make a difference to him. Wasn’t crazy about this in the beginning but it might be fun with this gear. 5’ ultra light,fast with president size 20 reels. $205 in total to catch some sunfish and small pickerel. I must be crazy. I was thinking about grabbing a couple of those. Have you had a chance to use them yet? Oops.
