  1. It’s pretty annoying that after only a few casts/fish they won’t stay up anymore. What do you guys do.
  2. Just pack your hardbaits. Buy some plastics when you get here, there cheap enough to leave a few behind if you have to.
  3. I’m recently trying out the Ned rig myself. My first cast also got one as soon as it hit the water. Haven’t got another.
  4. Pretty sexy stuff you got there.
  5. Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be able to walk by it in the store.
  6. I e used it a few times and caught fish. I e forgot it the rest of the time and caught fish. It certainly can’t hurt.
  7. I went crazy with all the different colors last year. What I learned was just about any color will work when the fish are biting and none of them will work when they aren’t. So now like everyone else I just bring some kind of green pumpkin, watermelon red, and a smoke purple. Although I did just buy some rage craws in blue sapphire to try out just because I couldn’t walk by them in the store. I’ll wait until I catch something on green pumpkin first before I put one on.
  8. That’s a great day man.
  9. That’s like the day of my dreams right there. I could happily catch dink’s on topwater all day. Congrats!!
  10. This has been a great year for me in mass. A ton of them in the 2-3 pound range several 3-4 and a couple low 4’s and a giant that saying between 6 and 7 I think is a understatement. Sorry I dont mean to take this thread off course.

I didn’t do any of that. I forgot my scale, I took a few pics and put it back in the water.

Thanks guys. A little bummed about the scale though. Now I can only call it a 5+ and not a 6 or 7. As I was having drinks on the fourth yesterday and talking about it, it was starting to get quite big lol.

Of course I didn’t have a scale but this is definitely my Pb. T was chasing blue gill at almost 90 degrees with bluebird skies caught it in about 12” or less of water. It almost swam into my grandson trying to get his bluegill that he caught. Gave the kid a heart attack lol. I made three casts to it with the bull worm I had on. No scale but I really think it was around six definitely more then five pounds.
  14. Nice, that’s something to be proud of.
  15. I don’t personally have one but a freind of mine does and I believe it’s the 7 ratio also. He fishes allot of chatterbaits and he really likes the reel. For whatever that’s worth. I’m sure the 6 would be fine also.
  16. I was thinking about grabbing that same rod for 1.5’s. I feel like you can do allot with that rod.
  17. I also have the fury 705cb and I feel like the 1.5’s are little light for it, but that’s just my opinion. On the other hand it throws 1/2-5/8’s lipless 50 plus’s yards. Idk that’s just my take on it.
  18. Caught the little one on a spinnerbait and about 10 feet from shore it was jumping and the bigger one grabbed it. I seen the whole thing it was crazy. Was able to pull them both up on shore. Didn’t have my scale but if I had to guess the bigger one is about 3 lb’s maybe a little more and the small one was about 10” long. Also almost lost a spro rat to a turtle. They swim faster then I thought. I saw the mother of all wakes behind the rat coming fast so I stopped and walked it In place and it was a big turtle. Interesting outing I’m glad I stopped after work. It’s always those unplanned couple of casts when I’m driving by that tend to be the most interesting.

Thanks guys, that’s a few more then I was expecting. Trying to find them locally to try on is tough. I hate to order glasses without trying them on.

I know there are a few threads on this already. Can anyone recommend a pair or brand In The $60/$80 range. Me and high end glasses don’t get along. I’ve lost 2 and broke 2 $150+ pairs. I’m just looking for something decent so I’m not to bent out of shape when I break or loose them again. Thanks.

6” husky needle nose with side cutter from Home Depot in the back pocket. Work great and don’t care if I loose them. They cut braid better then the braid cutters I’ve tried. I mostly use my knife to cut tag ends though.
  24. I don’t know how I did that but I agree.
