  1. You can save them salt he tail and put it in a big zip loc bag.
  2. I use a GLoomis GLX 802C JWR for 1/4 oz jigs. The softer tip makes it easier to cast the small jugs. I use a reel set, no need for the back breaking cross their eyes hookset. YMMV
  3. I use an IMX 781 with a Shimano Ci4 1000 throw 1/64oz and an IMX CBR 781 with a Daiwa Tatula 1000 throw to throw 1/32oz. I’ve been doing this for years, before BFS became popular
  4. Large swim bait/glide bait , senko, jerkbait
  5. I was given a couple saltwater lures. First thing I did was take off the hooks. Those hooks are almost impossible to sharpen. If it changed the balance or action of the lure , the bass didn’t seem to care.
  6. There is no noticeable difference in weight after applying the shrink tube
  7. I put shrink wrap on a few of my handles. Did it mostly to add some color. I used a heat gun and there were no problems. Give yourself a little extra in length. They’ve held up for for over 4 years. A damp cloth with a little Dawn dish soap cleans them easily
  8. A real productive jig for me, for smallies and spots, is Made from the hair of a gray squirrel tail. One tail makes several jigs,’depending on the size of the tail. Ask one of your friends who hunts to save a few for you
  9. If you have a friend in the medical field, see if he/she can get you one of the devices that are used for eye surgery. They’re a fine wire soldering gun with a self contained battery. Put the tip between the torn parts,’press the button and the wire will heat up. Slide it out of the worm and you’re done. The battery lasts for several years
  10. Don’t be afraid to bounce worms rigged on a dart head on the bottom. This technique catches a lot of bass, especially spotted bass. And yes, you will lose a lot, but sometimes that the price of catching fish
  11. You only bought one? You know what’s going to happen when you use it
  12. Reel Ex is close To you. Dan specializes in Shamnos but does everything. Google is your friend
  13. Daiwa Tatula 1000 spooled with 4# fluoro on a GLoomis IMX 781
  14. The local shop uses one of these
  15. These are fished all year: Depps Buzzjet, Evergreen SB, Lucky Craft Gunfish, River2Sea Rover, Rebel Pop R
  16. Some plastics colors are area Specific. If you have any of the originals, send one to one of the hand pour guys. They might be able to come lose to matching it
  17. Tackle Warehouse has this one made by Plano
  18. I won’t be buying one. It looks like it would be weedless,’but if I’m pulling it across weeds, how is the prop supposed to spin? I’ll just use the frogs I have. YMMV

Being late is probably my #1 pet peeve. I had to tell my girlfriend we were due at places 30 minutes before so we wouldn’t be late. That problem was easily solved. I hate when people show up late and don’t call ahead or apologize once they arrive. My fishing friends get one chance to be late. After that,’if they’re late 5 minutes I’m already gone.
  20. You don’t need the stake. My dad’s friend would water his lawn about a half hour before dark. We would go over when it got dark and the night crawlers were on top of the lawn.
