Searching for a better worm hook
I fish almost exclusively for spotted bass and use an exposed hook. This is the book I use. You’ll lose the head before the worm comes off
- Straight- Ribbon- Curly or other

Do you have (fishing) acquaintances that are a one-way street?
I be talked to several guys regularly. Over the years, I’ve learned who I can “talk” to and who I can share info with. I have three guys who I will give any info they ask for, including specific areas or even spots. They will do the same in return. Lake Shasta has 375 miles of shoreline, I’m not worried about someone catching “my” fish.

beer. i am NOT judging. i love beer.
Guys who know me know I don’t allow beer or smoking on my boat, for obvious reasons. Neither one of us would be happy if you burned a hole in my seat or got tipsy and fell. This is my choice. If someone can’t go 6 hours without a cigarette or beer, that’s their choice.

6 minutes. free stuff goes fast.
I got a new washer and dryer. They delivered and installed but wouldn’t take the old ones. No problem. A friend would come by the next day so hadnd help me take them to the dumps. I had nowhere to put the old ones so put them at the end of the driveway. Before I went to bed, as a joke I put a sign on each one for $100. You guessed it, woke up the next morning and they were gone. Hope they were happy with a non working washer. I was afraid they’d bring it back. LOL

How do I get bass blood out of a shirt?
I’ve had blood on my shirt. I noticed it right away and just used water and gently rubbed. Gotta do it before it dries

Paint Cracking on New Devil Horses.....??
Hard to tell without having the bait in hand but it looks like there was no topcoat applied.

A Very Expensive Fishing Trip
My phone is never on me when I’m in the boat. I put it in a pouch and secure it to one of the rails. Storing it in the glove box or one of the compartments in the summer will cause it to overheat and shut down. If I have to use it, I sit in the middle seat I case I drop it.

Longest casting baitcasting reel
Before you spend more money, try changing your technique. Stop trying to cast as hard as you can. By doing this, you compromise the action of the rod. Let the rod do what it was designed to do Let the rod load on the backswing and use a nice easy motion on the cast. No need to whip the rod

Finesse spinning reel recommendations
I’m using Shimano C14 1000’s for Using 4# line. IMO anything larger is too big/heavy. YMMV
-
Weightless plastics
I use 5” reapers. The flat wide Profile is easier for the bass to see through the junk. Color doesn’t matter, all the fish is going to see is a dark object from below

Active topwater bite based on weather

who is my (double) San Diego Jam knot expert?
For those of you who haven’t heard of the Pitzen knot, it’s also known as the Eugene knot. This is one of the easiest and most reliable knots you can tie. If you haven’t been using it, give it a try it also gives you an audible click to let you know it’s tied correctly

Powder Coating Jig Heads ?
No fluids are used. The air in the chamber fluffs up the paint. Making it look like fluid, thus the name fluid bed
-
Powder Coating Jig Heads ?
You don’t need a fluid bed but it makes painting the heads a lot easier and it saves paint too. They’re easy and inexpensive to make
