Polluted lakes.....
The blue green toxic algae often resembles paint on the water. Warnings given out include no contact with the water and do not eat the fish. Above all, keep your pets away and don't let them drink the water

Bass pros huds
I don't believe they're available anymore. They were pulled when Huddleston filed their lawsuit. To answer your question, yes, the tails were identical.

Polluted lakes.....
Has it been hot in your area lately? If it has, this might be what you're seeing. https://www.doh.wa.gov/CommunityandEnvironment/Contaminants/BlueGreenAlgae

2010 Ranger 17VS Questions
If the batteries are the originals, I would replace them. Check the dates on them

Drain plug hole?
Does your boat have a live well? As others have said, if the plug fits snug, chances are it's not leaking. If you have a live well, your aerator could be cracked and water is seeping thru, or the tubing from the aerator to the well could be cracked.

Bought a new boat, lots of questions
Does the boat also have a live well? If so, that will be running off the one battery also and in the warmer months you will be recirculating the water during the day. I would be reluctant to run everything off of one battery. Yes, your outboard has a generator but it isn't strong enough to charge the battery when you're running. That said, if your battery runs down. you should be able to pull start a 50 hp with no problem

Boat Cover Recommendation
There's an easier way to tent the cover than making a PVC structure. Attach a 2" piece of webbing to a caribiner, hook it to the bow eye and run the strap on top of the bow seat and the back deck seat. Attach a metal ring to two lengths of the webbing to form a V. Put caribiners on both ends and clip them to the two eyes on the transom, making the two lengths long enough to reach the back deck chair. Run the end of the long web thru the metal ring and cinch it down and tie it. Put the cover over it and it will keep the rain out of your boat

Buying a boat directly from the manufacturer
Most of the guys who buy their river boats here order and buy direct as they want custom stuff. Unless they changed their policy, you can buy direct from Ranger too

In very deep lakes, when do you just disregard depth?
My home lake is Shasta, here in Ca. There are areas that are over 300 feet deep. A few times when I couldn't find the fish, I started looking in deep water. I have caught fish in 90 feet of water. Who knows why they were that deep, but the bite stayed that way for 3 weeks. None of my friends were willing to fish that deep and they struggled to find shallow(er) fish.

Slot Limit
Lake Oroville in Ca had a slot limit for a while. You could keep fish under 12" and fish over !5". The idea was to get rid of all the smaller fish so the bigger fish could grow. After a few years they did a study and found there were enough bigger fish in the lake that they took the slot limit off. Now the lake has a ton of small fish again. Catch and release is a good thing but IMHO, it is overdone, resulting in lakes with way too many small fish. Case in point is Lake Shasta. In the spring you can catch 15-20 fish before you catch one that is 12", which is the minimum size in Ca. It's easy to have 75-100 fish days in the spring without getting a limit of legal fish. My suggestion to get rid of the small fish is to have no limit on fish under 12". Have it in place for 3-4 years to see what effect it has on the bass population.

Best affordable boat fishing quick drying tennis style shoes?
Take a look at Soft Science shoes. They are super comfortable, dry fast and have non slip soles. They have a replaceable insole and the thing I like the most is the toe box is nice and wide, letting your feet spread out when you're standing. You can find them on sale close to your price range

Darn party boaters....
wave at them with one finger. I don't think too many people will thank that is a "friendly" wave. LOL

Darn party boaters....
In most states, boaters are responsible for any damage caused by their wake. Next time this happens, try to get the CF number of the boat and call it in. They might at least get a call and a warning.

Lid support struts
seems like a simple answer. If the 40 doesn't hold the lid up, get a stronger one. I doubt a stronger one is going to do any damage, if that's what you're worried about

lithium trolling battery
I've never heard of any warnings about lithium batteries and trolling motors . If there was a problem, I doubt most of the BASS Elite guys would be using them. They are lighter and they charge really fast. The biggest downside to them is when they run out of juice, they just quit. There is no warning that the battery is running down, you get full power from start to finish. Most people who sell you a lithium battery will also try to sell you a charger. You don't need a special charger, the charger you have now will work, BUT, it won't charge the lithiums to full capacity. It's a matter of about 5%. But if you're willing to spend the money on the batteries, why not spend another $300 on a charger that will fully charge them.

Trolling motor batteries and on board charger
Battery life depends on how well you maintain them. If you're looking for the longest warranty, get lithium batteries. They have a 10 year warranty. They are real light and they charge real fast.

Water got too low in my deep cycle trolling motor battery is it ruined?
here's how to check your battery(s). Charge the battery until the light turns green. Unplug the charger and use a voltmeter to check the battery. The reading should be at least 12.7 for a battery that is 100%. Some batteries will give readings up to 13.1 or so. Let the battery sit for one hour and take another reading. If the reading is the same, your battery is ok. If the reading drops, your battery is wearing out. If the reading is below 12.5, you might think about getting a new battery. A reading of 12.5 indicates half a battery

Shelf life of flurocarbon and mono
I'm not talking about filler spools. I buy bulk spools, 1,000 or 2,000 yards.
-
Shelf life of flurocarbon and mono
The local shop has been telling it's customers that line has a shelf life of 6 months, then it goes bad. I would tell you the same thing if I was selling line. If line deteriorates that fast, no one would ever snag any line when they were fishing
-
Shelf life of flurocarbon and mono
I keep all my line in a styrofoam ice chest in a closet in the garage. The chest keeps the light and heat away from the line. I have line that's over 20 years old that's still good

casting ultra light lures
I fish a 1/32oz head with spinning gear and have no problems with distance. My set up is a Gloomis IMX SJR 781, 18# Daiwa Samura braid and a Vicious Pro Elite 4# 6' leader. The reel is a Shimano Ci4 1000. The 781 is no longer made and is very hard to find, but an IMX SJR 782 would work just as well, just a little stiffer tip

Whiskey town lake
For anyone thinking of fishing Whiskeytown, it has been closed for at least the rest of the summer due to the Carr fire.
