  1. Learn how to check your own batteries. It’s not difficult. You can get an ohm meter at Bar or Freight for under $20. No more guessing at the condition of your batteries
  2. You might want to think k about installing a ladder on your boat, if possible. Glad you’re ok
  3. Evergreen Showerblows. Lots of different ways to fish it and it catches fish
  4. Deps Buzz Jet. Either size. They’rei pricey but they catch fish.
  5. Cuda is the best, keep an eye on Amazon l. The price fluctuates periodically. They’re usually less than $10
  6. +10 on the Amazon bobber stops
  7. I use them for wacky and neko. There’s less chance for the fish to get gut hooked as almost every fish is lip hooked because of the design. They are great for weightless baits

I you have friends who hunt tree squirrels, have them save the tails for you. The hair makes excellent nigs. A friend loves to eat squirrel. He doesn’t hunt. I I e him the squirrels I shoot’s and he use the tails to tie bugs for me. Win-win
  9. I pour my own baits and airbrush hard baits I always have an abundance of both I. My boat. When I come in at the end of the day, if there’s a kid in a boat, I’ll ask the parent if it’s ok to give him/her some baits. I always ask first. Some people don’t like strangers approaching their kids. I let them choose the baits they want. They usually get a couple 50 packs for their future trips.
  10. Lighter line will get your bait deeper
  11. I use Simms gloves made for fly fishermen. Lightweight, fast drying and one palms so I don’t lose any sensitivity. A couple friends switched after seeing them.
  12. A friend asked me to paint a Morning Dawn Karashi for him. It’s his go to bait now as the spotted bass eat it like candy.
  13. I don’t drop shot very often so don’t have one rigged. If I decide to drop shot, it doesn’t take very long to set up. I usually carry 3-4 rods that can be used for multiple techniques. No need to carry extra outfits in case I need them. They just get in my way. YMMV
  14. If you want to raise them, Google is your friend

I’ve been using ultra lite gear since the early 70’s. 4# test on a Mitchell 308. Line, rod and reel have changed the the years due to equipment changes but still using the same basic equipment. I catch 99% spotted bass and every fish feels like a big one.
  16. Lately, my favorite bait has been the megabass karashi 80. I’m fishing it on a GLoomis GLX 802C Med ex fast. I’m using a Daiwa Tatula 100 Type R with 4# test

Have any of you seen this from SPRO? Whats coming next?
  18. I tested rattle can and airbrush chrome with rattle can clear and epoxy i. In both cases, the chrome ran. I’d just fish them and touch them up as necessary. YMMV
  19. Thanks a lot.
  20. Looking for the biggest bass in the lake? I painted a couple of these. They’re 12” long and weigh 12 ounces. Not for the timid
  21. I’m not positive but I think I saw an article about a new powder paint that doesn’t need to be baked to be durable. Check the Powder Pro site or do a general search.
  22. I respectfully disagree. The guy who wants your tires isn’t going to pass because you have lug nut locks. They’re just as easy to remove as the plain lug nuts.
  23. Lug nut locks won’t keep your tires/rims from being stolen. They are easily defeated. If a thief wants your tires, they’ll get them. I’ve taken them off for a couple of friends who lost the “key”. It takes less than 5 minutes to take one off.
  24. I use a hand poured crawdad. It works better for me than a jig.
