When you can’t get finesse bites?
When the finesse bite isn’t there for me, I’ll go the opposite way and throw a 9” worm. Can’t count the times this has been the answer. Some days they don’t want smaller baits. YMMV

Extreme Heat
Did you watch the guy replace the capacitor? Do you know where it’s located? They’re less than $20 on Amazon and a 15 minute DIY project. Just match the numbers in the capacitor when you order. When your AC unit goes down, usually it’s the fuse or capacitor. I keep spares of both handy.

Topwater vs Squarebill vs Lipless Crank rods
I’m using a GLoomis GLX 802c JWR medium extra fast for topwater, jerkbaits and lipless. It works well for what I use it for. I don’t need/want a rod for each bait.

Fuzzy Dice Mold
How do you plan on rigging these?

Screw lock football heads
Screw locks definitively extend the life of plastic baits

This drives me crazy.
Here’s my take on color names. This is from the manufacturer’s perspective. You walk into a tackle shop and ask for a green pumpkin worm. If it’s a well stocked shop, you will be asked “whose worm do you want?” There could be 20 companies who make a green pumpkin worm. By using a different name, the manufacturer will have you asking for their worm ,even if it’s the same color as everyone else. A lot of color names don’t have anything to do with the actual color. It’s a iut people asking for and buying a specific brand

Spinnerbait storage
I got a folding CD case from the Dollar Tree. The clear pockets are big enough to hold one spinnerbait. It zips up fairly flat and doesn’t take up much space in storage. Amazon has cases too. Pick the one you like

Extending the life of a Keitech
I’m using the larger size for slotted bass, using this head. I’m getting 4-8 fish per bait. Once you thread the bait on, it won’t come off or slide down the hook. It takes several fish to break the tail off.

Rods on deck now with livescope
I take 3 rods on almost all of my trips, 1 casting, 2 spinning. These cover almost ever thing I need to do. I have no problem cutting off a bait and thing a different one one. I don’t need a rod for every technique I use. I went out with a friend who had 14 rods on the deck. He had a different bait in each rod. He used 3 rods that day. He said it was too much of a hassle digging thru the rods when he wanted one. Everyone has different ideas on what’s best for them. I try to make fishing easier, not harder. YMMV

Boating safety in the summertime
Not taking sides, just asking questions. What are the laws in your state regarding pulling skiers, tubers, etc? In California there must be a second person in the boat. When you drop a skier, that person has to raise a bright orange flag, notifying others that there is someone in the water nearby. If someone in your boat had a flag in the air, the jet skier might not have come so close. People sitting in the water are hard to see. Again, not placing blame on anyone. Be safe

You could try a Texas rigged weightless senko

Latest bank find repaints
Whatever brush you use, make sure to clean it thoroughly when you’re done using it. Dried paint is no fun to get out of an airbrush

Guiding?
Even if your state doesn’t require it, get a big liability insurance policy. Getting sued with no insurance will ruin your day. There could be a lot more to getting started than meets the eye. Good luck

Split Shot Rig (Line Twist) - Bluegills
My first thought is the hook is too far up from the weight. Fighting a fish will tangle the kind hanging down

Anyone like the taste of Bluegill?
Crappie first for me, then bluegills

No fishing for awhile
I won’t be going out on the lake for an undetermined time. Not by choice. There are two wildfires on the other side of the lake. Both are in remote areas and can only be fought by air. There is no vehicle access to the fires. One fire is 6,000 acres and the other one is 4,000 acres. An extreme hazardous air warning is in place. The smoke is so thick it looks like fog and the smell is terrible. I hope all the firefighters stay safe

How Long (time wise) Is Your Last Cast......????
I usually end my day around 1. If we’re catching fish every other cast, I’ll stay until the bite stops. When it’s time to go, either my brother or I will say “get your going home fish”. That means one more fish for each of us. When each of us gets that last fish, we’re heading back to the dock. To answer the question, there’s no set time.

help me find a ball head hook/jig that is huge.
It’s not a ball head but I can pour this head for you. The one in the picture is 1/2 oz and the hook is a Mustad 32786 6/0.the book is a big strong book, not fine wire. Guys are using this hook for stripers in the Sacramento River. PM if interested. I use this head/hook with a 5” paddle tail swim bait for the spots here at Shasta. PM if interested. Thanks

Trolling for bass?
I thought about trolling a couple of times but never did it. Lots of people troll for trout here and most of them complain about catching 10 or more “trash fish, 3-4# spotted bass per trip.

Favorite snacks while fishing?
I always have a big jug of water with lemon slices. I’ll also have fresh fruit. I always have a big bad of homemade beef jerky in the boat
-
Will it survive?
There’s only one way to make sure you don’t accidentally kill a fish. Stop fishing. Whether they know it or not, everyone has probably killed a bass
