So I accidentally gut hooked a bass as it was very windy today and didn’t feel him, when i pulled him out of the water he bled on my shirt. 
 

Any tips on how to get the stain out?

Bleach !

But never had a bass bleed on my shirt.

When I do occasionally deep hook them " mainly wind " , they go to the frying pan.

 

Just wash them regularly and blood always comes out for me

He was bleeding the moment he came out the water, i tried to keep him away but he flopped out of my hands and i had to catch him like a football lol

3% over the counter hydrogen peroxide removes blood from clothing. Soak the blood stains then wash.

more protein.  no joke.  an old lady told me to wipe peanut butter on it and wash it normal.

Haha. Mine was a mess too the first time. Every time after that  I used one of those field dressing kits with the elbow high rubber gloves and sanitary wipes.

Biz powder does good things for me. Blood comes out pretty easy if you wash it quickly. Waiting 24 hours is where I start to see stains after washing

Any type of stain I just soak for a bit in Oxyclean.

I've always had great results putting Dawn dish soap directly on the stains, let it sit for a bit then wash like normal. Never had a stain of any type that it didn't work on.

I’ve had blood on my shirt. I noticed it right away and just used water and gently rubbed. Gotta do it before it dries

Oxyclean or hydrogen peroxide.  Both work the same way and are great for organic stains like blood.  Also, and this is VERY important, wash in cold water.  Hot water will set the stain and make it permanent.  Blood needs to be washed in cold water.  Also, don't throw it into the dryer until you've examined the stain and determined it has been completely removed.  Again, the heat from the dryer will make the stain permanent.  If it didn't come out after the first wash, treat it again, let it soak and give it another cold-water wash.  

 

Hydrogen peroxide and Oxyclean (dissolved in water) will foam up on contact with blood.  So they're also good for finding blood stains you might have missed.

Immediately soak the bloodied area and keep it wet ‘til you get home. Then try the remedies listed above. Don’t let the blood dry on the fabric.

 

just do this with the blood before it dries 

My wife keeps a spray bottle of SHOUT laundry stain remover on the shelf above the washer. It says to presoak for 1 to 5 minutes. We've done everything from no presoak to overnight and it always works.

 

We have a dog and two grandsons under 7, too.

 

I used to use all of the other methods. A 22-ounce SHOUT is only $4.08 at Lowe's.

Blue Dawn dish detergent. It's the best stain remover there is and most people already have it in the house. Treat the stain and let it soak in a while, but not long enough to dry. Wash it and hang it to dry. You don't want to dry the stain with heat if it's not all gone. If it doesn't completely work, repeat. If that doesn't work, you're stuck with the stain.

Your own saliva on a blood spot works really well before it dries. Rubs right out. 

Cold water right away. Warm or hot water will set the blood stain.

 

I douse with cold water right away. When get home, use a stain remover and let soak. Then wash in cold water by hand. 

 

If stain has set, then spot treat with bleach if it is a white shirt.

I was going to suggest scissors,but better ideas above....
