  1. Lay them on a paper towel. Put another towel on top and massage the baits until the oil is gone
  2. Thank you
  3. Here’s a couple of glide baits I painted
  4. I use several to water baits. I’ve caught the most fish on the SB. I’ve given away all my spooks.
  5. I wouldn’t have left the store until it was resolved to my satisfaction. As others have. Stated, I spool my own. I would have said something as soon as I noticed the guy was having problems. I would have just taken it back home. I think it’s too late to do anything now. Unless the guy admits he dinged your reel, it’s his word against yours.
  6. Medium hard plastic won’t be stiff. You’ll still get movement and it will be a little more durable than soft plastic. You should be able to catch several fish before it tears up. I pour my. Wits with medium plastic and haven’t had any problems with catching fish or baits tearing up after one fish

File down these heads. You’ll lose the head before the bait comes off

A friend uses pieces of plastic straws. He grabs a couple each time he gets fast food. Each place has a different diameter straw. He slides it on and puts the hook through the straw.
  9. If you’re pouring your own, take a look at the Do-It Ripper and use a medium hard olastic
  10. If the fuses are ok, check the impeller. There might be something in there keeping it from spinning.
  11. Be aware that a big rubber net can be heavy. If possible, go to a store to check them out before you buy one.
  12. Swap out the trebles for inline hooks. This will cut down on most of your net problems
  13. I would take a spinning and baitcaster. Bring some different things that can be fished with each setup. Don’t overthink it. Go and have fun
  14. My first guess is the tip of your rod is held too high. Lowering it will help keep the bait in the water. Watch some videos on fishing glide baits. Look for a Matt Allen video. You should be able to work the bait rapidly without it losing out.
  15. I swap the trebles for inline hooks on most of my baits. Less worry abut tangling in the net and having a treble hook flapping around while trying to handle the fish. There’s also a lot less of a chance of the fish tossing a single hook. YMMV
  16. Soft Science shoes are the most Comfortable I’ve tried. It feels like wearing slippers. They’re made for fishing/boating. The reason your feet get tired/sore is because they’re compressed for a long period of time. Soft Sience shoes are extra wide with a roomy toe box. When you stand, your toes are able to spread out, there’s no pressure on your toes. I recommended them to two nurses who work 12 hour shifts and both of them said their feet don’t bother them after work. Amazon has several styles.
  17. Switch to a circle hook on your wacky rig and use a reel set. No more swallowed hooks
  18. Here’s the baits I have. They’re approximately 4”
  19. What size bait are you looking for? I’ll pour a couple baits that I have and post a pic for you.

The hinges could have a little bit of sealer in them . Hold it by the tail section and work the lure back and forth for several minutes. This will loosen it up
  21. One option is to cover the handles with shrink tubing. Easy to clean and you can take it off without any damage to the cork
  22. Why not make the entire bait hard? A fluke really doesn’t have much action other than gliding. I don’t think it’s going to make any difference. Salt water flukes are hard and they catch fish. YMMV
  23. Make sure your batteries are in good shape
  24. Just to avoid any confusion, the Pop R was made by Rebel, not Heddon
