  1. Golden Shiner Jackhammer in dirty water caught some good fish today. I love that Sierra 734c for my moving baits! It just feels so natural!
  2. The most underappreciated reels in the Shimano line are Curado 150 MGL and the Chronarch MGL. Everyone is either Metanium, Aldebaran, Antares. They overlook these two and it makes no sense. The Chronarch is rugged and very well built. If other companies had the components this reel has, it would be their premium! I love my Chronarch, but I do want a Metanium soon...just because!
  3. I would have a woman at every tournament and I'd live like Rick Clunn back in the day!
  4. Yes it's braid. I'll try some backing.
  5. I'm new to Daiwa spinning reel game. I've got a new Fuego and when I pull the drag it's not at all like a Shimano which tight with little to no give, the line just free flows line when you pull it...no resistance. When you pull line on a Shimano, it resists somewhat, but this you pull line and it's like no drag is even set. I have the reel all the way tight. Is this common for Daiwas?
  6. Northerners ?
  7. That ain't a bass.
  8. My alma mater Texas Tech! Who just beat Notre Dame to advance to the Sweet 16!
  9. I want a long cast spool for my CT reels.
  10. Is this the one with the long cast spool?
  11. Dobyns Champion XP 685CB...end of story! Look no further! This is your dude!
  12. Spinnerbaits, tubes, and 6th Sense Curve Finesse Squarebill (Tiger-Treuse). The squarebill landed that big girl. She measured from my elbow to the tip of my middle finger. She was fat and had a bloody tail. It's in the thick of spawn in Southeast Texas!
  13. Dobyns 735C is a great rod for an S-Waver 120.
  14. Yep, the 705CB looks very appealing to me.
  15. Sadly this is very true. I've had severe issues with Tackle Warehouse. Don't even get me started with USPS
  16. Daiwa Fuego LT or the Shimano NASCI for $100 or Daiwa Excelor or Shimano Sahara for $85ish.
  17. 703SF is the one I'd choose. The ideal rod for Senkos. Being that Dobyns has softer tips, I don't think even a dropshot or a 5" shakyhead would be out of question for it. You'll love that rod! Do yourself a favor and pair it with a NASCI or Fuego LT 3000 models! It might just be your do it all rod. Pond Hopper special.
  18. I tend agree, but as long as there is marketing departments for reels and equipment there is going be articles, probably anglers, and internet wizards who hold the Bible on bass fishing. I believe there is there are two reasons to go away from 6:1 and that being bottom contact and frogs.
  19. Isn't there a way to gear up or gear down your reels? You can switch gears out in other words.
  20. When other anglers see you fishing a spot and decide to park right next to you. I like to have my spot all to myself, if I can see you, then you are too close.
  21. When all else fails a light weight Zoom finesse worm shakyhead.
  22. I'm curious why you wanted a spinning rod for a utility setup? If you spent that on a rod, I would have spent it on a 704C Champion XP. I feel like you have more control, with moving baits on a baitcasting setup. I could see a Texas Rig, fluke, snappin tubes, finesse jig, because bottom contact is a feel bite and tubes and flukes require a jerking motion. It's hard for me to justify combining bottom contact lures, moving baits and flukes into that a spinning rod. Again that's me I fish a Fury 702sf for Neds, finesse shakyheads and a Kaden 713sf Tubes and Senkos.
