Anyone have a simple conversion chart. I have a rod that will handle 1-8 gram lures just trying to get an idea of what the lures weights would be in fractions of an ounce.

I started using 1/4 and 3/8 by Jacks Custom Baits. I mainly fish from the bank.

I use ReelX lubricant on the bearings. One drop goes a long way. You can also use this oil on any other parts that need lubrication.

Be very careful when removing the bearing retainer clip, they like to fly into never, never land. Keep your finger on them when you remove them. Also I work in a carboard box lined with white paper so I can see all the small parts. Another suggestion is to take pictures before and during disassembly. Check you tube some good videos.

I went with 3.8" Keitech since most of jigs have 3/0 or 4/0 hook.

I didn't want to post to an old thread. With all the different brands of paddle tail swimbaits on the market. What is your preferred brand and size of a paddle tail swimbait to use on an underspin ?

I just changed some of my lures over to Owner ones, haven't tried them yet.

I use braid and FC leader on my finesse outfits otherwise copolymer or FC. The exception is my froggin setup which is straight braid.

I am also, nothing the last three trips, water levels are extremely low where I fish, even a private farm pond.

What about a telescoping rod, Kastking just came out with Compass line in both spinning and casting. It will fit in your carry on with a reel. Just a suggestion.

I having been using KK Kovert fluorocarbon line and their copolymer line with out any complaints.

In NJ the COVID has brought out people that have never fished before. These are folks are taking anything that is in the lakes, ponds etc. No matter what species or size. Also most folks do not have the proper license. In this day and age if you question someone about the license or what they are taking there is a good possibility that you may get hurt. Hopefully 2021 will be much better.
