  1. my wife has a cheaper browning spinning combo that we purchased from bass pro shops a few years back. she's caught some dang hammers on it without any issue
  2. damiki rig fishing. you fish it vertically off of the bottom ABOVE the fish. jeff gustafson explains it pretty well on a wired video which he also used the same technique to win on the tennessee river last year
  3. tried to get a good screenshot of christie’s winning setups
  4. it's inevitable that they might get a little tore up by the toothy critters but they hold up very well with bass
  5. you're going to love those beast coast miyagi swimmers ?
  6. 3/8 and 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits are on 15-17 lb. fluoro/copoly for me
  7. like i said, lighter line and lighter lures with spinning gear is what i consider finesse when i am fishing. there is no real concrete definition in my opinion because you can do so many different things with many different baits. spy baits are typically 3/8-1/2 oz. but are thrown on 4-6lb. test. i wouldn't consider that finesse fishing in my opinion ?
  8. i like a simple slick clean look. i don't mind some colored accent's, but those neon colored rod blanks give me agita
  9. to me, finesse is anything with lighter line and lighter lures typically fished on spinning gear. dropshot, ned rig, wacky rig, neko rig, weightless texas rig, hair jig, tube, small swimbaits, etc
  10. it's a guesstimate and unofficial for the viewers to keep track. the "guess" is at the anglers discrepancy and he/she can pretty much call a 5 pounder a 4 pounder which could be a huge difference over a 5 fish limit. the only weight that matters is the weight at the official weigh in!
  11. the reel structure and parts looks pretty similar to a daiwa fuego LT from a quick glance. specs also very similar. if it were me, i'd spend the extra $20 for the proven diawa
  12. definitely a good possibility of that happening! i appreciate that
  13. he did mention a prototype YUM bait. i didn't get a good look at it though. he was also tossing a 5/8 oz. war eagle jiu-jigsu a lot around the docks
  14. it looked like a great time. i'm really hoping to make it out to one eventually
  15. finally some open water in my parts! first cast sloooooow dragging the jig on the bottom and this guy smoked it. great to get on the board with my first bass of 2022
  16. super stoked for christie, he really deserved that win. an awesome derby all around, i was locked in pretty much the whole time
  17. not dissing the age! more of a condescending joke and preference to the method of weighing i would prefer in huge money tournaments ?
  18. i use these for chatterbait trailers. pike and pickerel approved!
  19. some nice sacks so far weighed in on day one! bryan new leading right now with 20 pounds even
  20. i'd have to narrow it down to a jerkbait, keitech, and a ned rig
  21. swindle smokin em' with the rapala vision 110 ?
  22. with that type of money on the line i want a single stationary scale weighing in the fish instead of some 76 year old local on each boat. just my opinion though
  23. not that i don't trust the weight marshalls at all times, but i don't trust the weight marshalls at all times.
