  1. I figured you were just doing research for the latest savage gear bait. Berserk topwater squirrel.
  2. Remember a few years back when these were $9,999 plus freight, prep, tax etc etc.?
  3. State Farm, same as the cars and house. I believe tackle is covered under homeowners (subject to limits).
  4. I would say “domo arigaro Mr. Gamakatsu”.
  5. FishWeather gives good wind data, which matters a lot to me.
  6. Heck, when it’s this hot (heat index 100-115) I don’t want to do more than a 1/2 day.
  7. My dad had Alpha Gal. I had Rocky Mountain spotted fever. My grandmother had lymes. I DO NOT LIKE ticks.
  8. I can say with certainty that being at or above the weight limit is a no go. I wouldn’t buy one unless I was less than 75-80% of the weight capacity. Maybe less, as you add tackle, drinks, clothes, and maybe some water I’d it rains. It all adds up quick.
  9. I’ve only been on one guided bass trip and it was so long ago I don’t remember how the searing worked. That being said, how does the guide run the boat from the back if they have to run the trolling motor with a foot pedal? Perhaps the guide shouldn’t be fishing much, but they kind of need to be up there to handle the boat absent a wireless remote. I have a wireless remote and even with the remote it can sometimes be tough to run the boat from the back when you can’t see the trolling motor direction.
  10. I have a spare prop that I bring in the truck on any trips that are longer than a day. If I’m going to a lake for a week, the prop comes along in the truck. I ruined a prop once on a local river. No big deal but it took nearly a week to source a replacement. I realized that that would effectively ruin a week long trip, so I bought and started carrying a spare. I use aluminum props, so they are cheap. If I used stainless I would just carry a spare aluminum.
  11. What happens to a bass that eats a stick worm? Does it dissolve and pass through, get regurgitated, or stay in their digestive system and cause them to die?
  12. Skynet is now active.
  13. It is called bio accumulation. Larger fish are at the top. Drinking water is at the very, very bottom.
  14. There are probably fewer warnings and the water is generally cleaner today than it was 20-30 years ago. Not that it is ‘good’ but this isn’t a new phenomenon and it has been generally improving rather than degrading.
  15. I just give my kayak to a local kid and buy a new one every trip. For aesthetic purposes… In reality I don’t worry a bit about scratches. If I wore through from honest wear (not purposeful abuse), I would likely see it as a badge of honor and a good opportunity to upgrade my kayak.
  16. Cool, a coal powered truck!
  17. Mine corroded shut after a trip to the Gulf of Mexico. Never got the hitch in the water, I guess it was just the salt air.
  18. Those master locking pins are good for rusting shut. I had to grind mine off to get it to release. I suppose I should have YouTube’ed it to figure out how to get it off in 10 seconds. It took a while with the grinder.
  19. Blindly grope around throwing my favorite baits until I get a bite….or not.
  20. Use your melted cooler ice water to rinse it off. After a week fishing in the salt, I sprayed down everything with salt away, but I mostly did that because I had it handy for flushing the motor. I’m not sure it was necessary.
  21. FishWeather has lots of weather station data and forecasting for wind calls.
  22. 2 hours? I would say a few minutes. Maybe 5 to 6 tops.
