  1. The BassResource.com banner on the ESPN Classic page? Nice work Glenn!
  2. If Daiwa can do it why not Shimano. Looks like a great chance to get that Steez you've always wanted at a discount!
  3. +1, still haunts me to this day.
  4. Welcome Sebastien and good luck with your tournament angling! I'm not able to help on the info you need but I'm sure one of our Florida members will chime in to help. big
  5. Any decission on where or when Glenn?
  6. I know moneys tight for everybody but a Bic razor can't be more than a quarter. Great pics Glenn, keep um coming
  7. Here in Texas the federation guys do a good job with the youth. They are starting youth BASS clubs and holding tournaments. I do see some problems though. They are not doing a good job at getting the word out about their youth program. State website is never current and if you don't know someone in the Fed to get the lastest info you'll be left behind. Also, here they fish a 4 or 5 hour tourny for the kids. What 12-18 yo that loves bass fishing can't hit it all day? In '07 my son qualified for state and we drove 1100 mile round trip one weekend to prefish and again the next to compete in a 5 hour tourny at Amistad??? Come on guys, let them fish!
  8. Yes, usually is one of the better times to come. Everything is subject to the weather though.
  9. My new motto ;D ;D ;D
  10. We'll be there. Leaving right after work so should be in town by 7:00 or so. Hope that's not too late. Bert
  11. I had a Triton 186 Mag DC. It had no problem with rough water. It was as smooth as most boats it's size I've been in. Slower? Mine was because it had a 115 4 stroker on it. Ran low 50's. If it had a 150 I'd say it would run with the 18' 150hp glass boats just fine. Cheaper??? Mine was 22K new. Now that was a loaded, top end tin boat in '04 but a modest glass boat of the same size costs about that. I doubt you'll see Rick in cheap Tracker like a panfisher 16 but what ever he's in it will be less that his Z9. So far as towing, maybe a small car would do it ok, I don't know. Never tried it.
  12. My old Triton aluminum would float in water shallower than the diameter of the tm prop. He' ll get in there where nobody in a glass boat can. I hope the fish are up that shallow for him. Great idea but no different than the guys switching boats for the Elites on Erie's big water. BTW, a loaded Tracker is not really "cheap". A glass boat can be bought for the same money. They are stingy on fuel but won't save much on cost of towing. Worst part of a metal boat for me was fighting the wind. They blow around bad.
  13. For sure an endless Ford/Chevy debate. I like the MG Tours foot control. I've had MK's and didn't really like them much. If you can't cast and reel with one hand better get a foot control. The hand control is easy on the back and legs though.
  14. Caught a sale at Wally World a few years ago when they were reducing the size of their fishing dept. Bought about 15 Falcon Originals and Berkley Series One's for $9-$13 each.
  15. On the subject of burning.....I saw KVD on TV a while back saying he HAD to burn his crank across a certain main lake point in order to trigger the fish into biting. Now how many of us would have just moved on thinking there was nobody home???
  16. A couple come to mind. I'd like to hear their thoughts on the use of finesse techniques, like drop shot or shakey heads, in the elite series. Also interested in hearing their thoughts on fishing or avoiding community water like boat houses, main lake points, etc. And if you run into that kid from California, ask him if we're going to have to listen to him whine again this year. ;D ;D ;D
  17. Some really good info for the tournement angler the pros gave on last years videos. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with this year!
  18. Around here the jack a$$es will use your winch to tear the loc-r-bar right off your boat.
  19. Sadly this has become a bigger and bigger problem in Texas. I remember being embarassed to have to warn everybody that was coming to Roadtrip 2 at Fork to take EVERYTHING out of their boats. It's not just a random crackhead grabbing some rods for a quick fix. This is an organized effort and moves from lake to lake. The local authorities don't have any interest in catching the bad guys either. Ebay, Craigslist, and flee markets is where our hard earned tackle end up. If your buying used tackle from these places you may be supporting the thieves.
  20. Glenn, is there an archive of the vids from last year?
  21. Looked like the real thing to me, lol.
  22. Click the link again Fluke. It's at the top of the page. Really, anywhere is good with us. Maybe a BRer will pop in with another place closer to the action. I know with all the stuff going on the last thing anybody wants to do is to drive all over town. Did that in SC last year and killed about two hours in traffic before stopping at a place right by the hotel, lol.
  23. This place was recommended by a boardmember on the TFF. Supposed to have a big enclosed patio. I think it's not downtown though. http://crawdaddyskitchen.com/
  24. My best guess is that it would be very durable. What I've seen in applications at my work is that cf is chip resistant and can be flexed hard w/o breaking. Wonder what the cost is?
  25. Flipin, I'm a grad of Eisenhower HS and Cameron U. Lived out in Wyatt Acres. Moved down here after school but still make it back from time to time. Dad didn't have a boat but took me out to the mountains and we tore um up in those little lakes. McGee is a geat lake. My club hits it from time to time and we always have a good trip. I'm going to fish the Future Bass trail with my son this year so we'll be hitting Hugo, Murry, and Texoma in addition to McGee. Keep your eyes open on the board as there are a few others from SW OK on here. Bert
