Best affordable line
Check out Seaguar red lable. Around $12 for 200 yards.

Santee Lakes CA
Going to be camping there 3 days in June. Definitely bringing a few rods. Was hoping for some information about bottom compositions, vegetation types, and average depths. Gotta keep the rods and tackle to a minimum due to space, so I'll have to try and cover it all. Thanks in advance.

Walther PPS M2
Finally broke in the Walther PPS. Sweet little shooter and wasn't too shabby at 25 yards even. Put 200 FMJs and some Federal HST and Critical Defense without issue. Keeping the Shield too I decided. I hated that gun when I first got it. Made a lot of excuses because of the trigger on it. Took lots of dry firing and going back to the fundamentals. It's been a solid performer with over 1k rounds and no issues. It eats steel, and aluminum no problem. I guess I'll rotate them both in the EDC after a few hundred more through the PPS. Gotta see how steel and aluminum fare with it too.

Bass Fisherman's Anonymous
Fishing has been good. However does anyone have advice or a guide for an angry Mrs.? She seen the eBay invoices for the last few months. Definitely not happy lol. Thank goodness she didn't see the tackle warehouse or local purchases!

Ranger Customer Service
I was hoping anyone who has dealt with Ranger customer service could share their experience. My coworker discovered an 11 inch crack on the weld of his hull. 2018 Ranger RT198P. He is the original owner. Does Ranger typically have a fast turnaround? Hoping to hear positive information so he doesn't need to stress. The boat was purchased from Cabelas.

Purchasing Spinning Reel
My Fuego LT 2500 has been pretty good. Really smooth consistent drag. Do get a lot more line twist compared to a BG 2500 I had (excellent reel). Fuego is a pretty good choice considering $70ish on eBay.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Few from the last outing. Tons of carp spawning everywhere with all their shenanigans..

Big bass on the line?
Couldn't agree more. Some just dig with massive head shakes. Other straight up and out of the water. Guess it's the girls personality.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
Shield Gen 1 9mm with Federal HST. Pretty stoked to have a Walther PPS M2 arriving tomorrow to try out. I carry to make sure I can always protect my tater. Also to make sure I can always make it home to her. I respect the men and women of law enforcement but they can't be everywhere at once. I'd rather place my family's and my security on me.

What are your staple colors?
Green pumpkin, black and blue, white, bream, chartreuse, and ghost minnow. Keep it pretty simple. Do change things up depending on the seasons. Gotta throw your reds for pre spawn. Always usually run white shad profiles winter time. Keep my AYU, Sungill, and natural colors for post spawn through summer not deviating much.

craw presentation with weedy bottom?
I'd try the craw colored lipless and rip it through. If it's in front of them they will react. Not sure what set up you are using but the mojo can be pulled through gnarly weeds and stay clean.

Budget heavy action rod
I used an Abu Vendetta 7'6 Heavy Fast rated for up to 1.5oz. I believe I purchased it for $73 shipped. Only con was an eye replacement after 5 months at the tip. I'm pretty tough on my gear so that might have been the culprit. Used it for frogging, flipping, and smaller swimbaits like Gantarel Jr and S Waver 168.

Big Texas Rigged Worms
Just watched it on lunch 2 hours ago hahaha! Thank you all for your feedback. I'm super amped up for the weekend fishing. Only running a 2D Sonar on the yak but my marker buoys arrive this afternoon. Anxious to get out there!

Most expensive lure
Gantarel Jr. It's in an artificial habitat. I'm going swimming this weekend hopefully nobody else got it.

Big Texas Rigged Worms
Yessir Havasu. Largies. Trying to crack 7lb 3oz this year. There is also the big bass brawl kayak series going through summer. Every one puts $10 in the pot and with biggest bass winner takes all.

Big Texas Rigged Worms
I'm in a kayak. Would love to throw a 10XD but can't the drag of the lure just pulls me to it. Working on a dual anchor system at the moment to keep me stationary for my 6, 8, and 10XD. Going to throw jigs too but the grass is coming in now. Hopefully it's not too bad yet for them.

Big Texas Rigged Worms
Post spawn 75 degree water. Been catching decent sized 3s and 4s on secondary points 10' deep. I've also marked fish in 20+ near main lake points around isolated structure. I suspect the larger post spawn females are in deeper water and near the ledges too. What do you guys recommend for big Texas rigged worms? Haven't fished them much and would like to put in time with it. What rod length, power, and action are advisable? TIA.

P Line issues
Took advantage of the buy one get one deal on the Tactical. I was pretty nervous trying it out. It is amazing. Cast super smooth, very low memory. I brought up a 4 pound largemouth and the big branch it was stuck in today. Impressive line.

So I’ve never caught a fish on a treble hook...
Buy a few lipless, squarebills and jerkbaits and stick with it. Whenever I learn a new technique I work with it until I start catching fish. It's kind of torturing yourself but it pays off. You really get an understanding of the technique and you can chalk it up to a confidence bait. Fishing from shore you might want to avoid deep cranking for now. Probably going to hang up a lot of baits learning the feel of what you are bouncing off of and working the crank through cover. Good luck! Reaction baits are awesome. You can cover lots of water from the bank and find the active fish.

Different slang names for big bass :-)
Slaunch, chunks, slobs, pigs, hawgs, tanks, toads, donkeys, and giants ?

Post-Spawn Techniques
Welcome! Here on Havasu most are post spawn. Weightless senkos are working great. Small paddle tail swimbaits in bluegill and AYU are getting it done. Might want to throw around something like a Gantarel or S Waver. Big females looking for a big meal with plenty of pan fish shallow. Fry guarders out there too.

Best topwater lures for fishing around docks?
Usually do very well with Poppers and Sammy/Spook baits. The Deps Buzz Jet really gets them fired up.

Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship
Definitely feel motorized should have their own division. Personally I haven't seen a huge advantage or performance difference in pedal vs paddle though. That comes down to the angler IMO. Tourney results should be posted in several hours tops.

Walther PPS M2
Appreciate the feedback Hopefully the deal sticks around. After talking with the Mrs she wanted something larger sized for easier recoil management and home protection. CDNN has the Walther Creed for $255 shipped. Pretty good reviews on it out there so hopefully it is not a lemon. Ordered one last night. Going to stick it out with the Shield a bit longer. I'll probably post some thoughts on the Creed after a thousand rounds.
