Don’t need a new rig but I want one!
For a reel check out the Daiwa Alphas SV TW 800 on Digitaka. If I recall it's about 170. Should work great for plastics.

Learning to fish Bass (Boat)
I would try a swing head with a biffle bug or a owner jig rig with a small keitech. It's a good presentation to cover lots of water fast that looks natural if there's heavy pressure and clear water. You can fish shallow and relatively deep effectively. Pitch jigs around heavier cover and docks. With water in those temps there will definitely be big females staging up and spawning. Not sure if you throw big swimbaits but it can pay off this time of year.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
I bought a bodyguard 2.0 on Christmas. Sights were shooting 2inches left at 10yds. 12 round magazine only loads to 11. Other than that I really like it. No issues with hollow points. Almost at 1000 round count with it. Great little gun but Smiths QC always been a little sketchy. This was my main squeeze this winter. Transitioning to the dot has been amazing. It's a little bit of work moving from iron sights but well worth it. Starting to warm up and will use the Bodyguard 2.0 for summer or the M&P 3.6 compact.

Are you into swimbaitin'?
Love swimbaits. The draw power is incredible. You can throw several lures in a fishy area with nothing. Throw a big glide and the behemoths come out of the wood works. It's bizarre how some days it's only followers, or they all hammer it.

Digitaka order
Both of my Zillions came in 5 days or less. I wouldn't worry. I am not sure if an automated email response is generated and I think it's 5am there. If I recall correctly my last purchase paypal confirmed before they did.

I'm Going To Japan!
Wow congratulations! Very excited for you. It would be cool for you to check out some mom and pop tackle shops. See some cool JDM tackle and reel finds. Definitely would like to see some cuisine from Japan and your thoughts on it. Finally, way off of the fishing topic butif you can ogle a Grand Seiko watch. Very fine intricate craftsmanship and spring drive is very unique and innovative. Have fun!

What are your opinions about the riser?

When will livewells get chillers
I hope so. Every weekend my home lake is hit with tournaments and prefishing from February until June. I don't think we've had a healthy spawn cycle for years.

Where are you headed to in 2024?
Fingers crossed for 2024. Lake Mohave. Bartlett, Alamo, Canyon and Saguaro. More river fishing on the Colorado. Maybe Lake Mary again.

Fish-fighting fit?
Lift weights. 5 miles every other day on stationary bike. Kettlebell works outs. Calisthenics. Band and slamball workouts. Lots of core workouts for degenerative disc and L4 herniation. Always been super active but arthritis is creeping in pretty early at 40. Going to work on mobility and muscle imbalances for 2024 and hopefully move into a pdl kayak.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
Some rules are meant to be bent or broken. When I was a meter reader we would have to go to some very remote areas without cell service. A response from the sherrif would take easily over an hour and half to two. The 9mm always went along hidden. What they don't know won't hurt them. Gun free policy is asinine.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
Enjoying the cooler AZ weather and rocking the M&P 4" Compact Optics Ready. Transitioning to red dot in the near future. Probably the trijicon rmr type 2.

Yet another kayaker missing and presumed dead
Such a bad feeling when you are paddling as hard as you can and gain inches. White caps coming into a kayak. Reckon I'm getting older now and the mind still writes checks the body can't cash from time to time.

Yet another kayaker missing and presumed dead
New Years day I was caught in some gnarly winds in the kayak and white caps. Came in super fast. No PFD. Pucker factor 7/10. Almost lost a rod and reel setup. Couldn't paddle hard enough to beat the wind and was stationary for probably 15 minutes. I pulled a muscle in my left lat. My right forearm was cramping locking out before I finally got around the point to get to my truck. This is a good topic and will be ordering a quality pfd again. I don't know if I could have made it if I capsized. I've always had the mindset to make it home for my kiddo. Conceal carry, firearms proficiency, medical training ect. but no pfd. Seriously logic flaw. Thanks for the reminder.

How many days did you fish in 2023
Not enough. Had to move out away from my wife. NEVER let a family member with fentanyl and meth addiction move in with you.

Fishing around docks
Large swimbait or glide bait. Skipping a jig or underspin with keitech. Drop shot if they are finicky

Attainable Goal(s) for 2024
Fish more. Travel and fish new waters. Learn jigging and flutter spoons, the A-rig, and use spinning gear more.

Is it better to have a better reel or rod?
When you die you don't want grandkids and great grandkids sorting through your gear talking about how grandpa was a Neanderthal pairing cheap rods/expensive reels or vice versa. Make them both nice 😁

Bass fishing on Saguaro Lake near Phoenix in late February?
Definitely worth it. Massive largemouth there. There's always a chance of a PB. I was told last year Game and Fish electro shocked a 17lb largemouth.
