  1. I see you've got Smallmouth. I'd be throwing (guessing) a Jerkbait, MB dark sleeper, and a dropshot.
  2. Have fun & be safe. Goodluck.
  3. I primarily fish Shimano's but my frog reel is Revo AL-X 8.0:1 and 17 lbs of drag. If it blew up today I'd replace it with the reel that replaced it which is the Revo AL-F 8.0:1.
  4. 7" Redfin in white is nice on a Blueback lake when they want it slow on top. Just give enough speed for a V - wake.
  5. Targeting 10 lbers in a tournement! I like your style. Goodluck. Get pics.
  6. Spoons and jigs.
  7. OMG. I've never done such . Well there's no pics/videos of me doing such. So no proof.
  8. Short simple fishless review of the 13 BAMF Shad 8" at 3.57 oz and 12/0 Beast hook 3/4 oz. The shad is easy to rig with the Beast hook due to the belly slot, open air pocket, and top groove to hide the hook. The tail kicks and rolls nicely but the body not so much. It fishes through weeds great. Cast fine. Spirals while sinking. I made 80 - 100 cast and the bait is still in good condition with just a bit of it's painted shine gone(not missing paint). Durability after catching fish? So far seems to be money well spent. We had a 6 degree water temp drop in 24 hours and the bass were shutdown and hitting nothing.
  9. 13 Fishing BAMF 8" shad and 12/0 Beast 3/4 oz hook. Test fishing tomorrow.
  10. Spotted Bass can destroy your thumb.

    Excellent
  12. At 81 - 82 degrees we start catching them schooling on baitfish out over deeper water and as the water temperature drops they follow them into the coves. 47 degrees is winter water temperature for me and I go vertical spooning.
  13. Hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend. I had hunting club clean up yesterday and it was like working in a sauna. I was sweating so much the ticks, skeeters, and red bugs were drowning.
  14. The salesman is right Crestliners won't float in the blue marsh.? Congratulations on the new rig. Now get us some pics of fish in it.
  15. The depth of water you typically fish will answer which way to go. I spend most of my time in 15 FOW plus so I went with the Spot Lock and it holds the bow within 3' circle but the rear of the boat is controlled by the wind/current. If your are flipping/pitching in knee deep water I'd go with the PP to keep the boat exactly where you want it, you are silent, and not muddying up the water.
  16. My primary lake has a 25 hp limit. The only pleasure boat we get are sailboats and kayaks. I only fish the Cruise and Ski lakes in the winter.
  17. My primary lake has Blueback Herring in it. Apparently Glimmer Blue Super flukes look like a Blueback to the LM, Spots, Hybrids, and Stripers because they crush them. I also fish Bluegill Flash in places were bluegill are the main forage.
  18. Braid to leader gives me a much better hookset on long cast with single hook baits along with increased sensitivity.
  19. Sounds like a fine excuse for a new rod & reel.
  20. That roughed up thumb was from a 28 Spotted bass, 9 LM, and 41 Striper day. One of those special days that make up for tough days. I get on the Spots a few times a year and my thumb will literally get to bleeding. Not whinning.
  21. I'll have somewhere between 2 - 18 rods rigged up on any given trip. I'll throw them a variety of different speeds and depths. If I receive no love I go find hungry fish. If I'm throwing BIG swimbaits I make 3 cast , change angles and make 2 or 3 and move on.
  22. I throw the silent in clear water and rattler in stained/muddy water. But sometimes they want the opposite.
